Description When your vehicle is in reverse gear, the vehicles exterior sounder backup alarm may only produce an intermittent warning sound or may be inoperative and produce no warning sound. Safety Risk A backup alarm that does not emit sound may fail to alert pedestrians or other road users of a reversing vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Remedy Parts are available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to repair the wiring connection at the exterior sounder backup alarm free of charge. 26V118000 · Back Over Prevention:warnings:external/pedestrian Alert

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2026-2027 E-350 and E-450 vehicles. The backup alarm connector may become loose and detach, preventing the alarm from sounding when the vehicle is backing up.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A backup alarm that fails to alert pedestrians and other vehicles of a reversing vehicle, increases the risk of crash or injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the exterior sound connector on the frame wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 17, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S12. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on March 4, 2026.
