TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 FLEETWOOD TIOGA. THE CONTACTS VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL # 06V286000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL), WHICH CAUSED THE SPEEDOMETER TO FAIL. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY ONLY REPLACED A WIRE, WHICH SHOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE ONLY WAY THE SPEEDOMETER COULD BE REPAIRED WAS TO REPLACE THE DASH ASSEMBLY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 17,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE ARE CONSTANT PROBLEMS WITH THE CAB BATTERY. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT SHE FEELS THERE ARE MORE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN THE CAB AND POTENTIAL FOR FAILURES. THE CONSUMER STATED 8 FUSES HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED SHE HAD PARTS ON THE FRONT END REPLACED BECAUSE OF A SHIMMY SHE FELT WHILE DRIVING. UPDATED 07/26/07 *TR

CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES AND TRAVEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR, MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION, MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BOILER TUBE. PRESSURIZED COOLANT SOLUTION COULD BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: RELEASE OF COOLANT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS COULD IGNITE AND RESULT IN A FIRE.

Remedy: FLEETWOOD WILL BE WORKING WITH DOMETIC IN ORDER TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS (PLEASE SEE 06E076). DOMETIC WILL REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS BY INSTALLING A SECONDARY BURN HOUSING, A THERMAL FUSE, AND A MELT FUSE FREE OF CHARGE. DOMETIC HAS RETAINED STERICYCLE INC. TO MANAGE THIS CAMPAIGN. STERICYCLE WILL ASSIST YOU IN LOCATING DEALERSHIPS OR SERVICE CENTERS AND WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH SCHEDULING OF APPOINTMENTS. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CLASS C MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH A SPARE WHEEL . THIS WHEEL HAS INSUFFICIENT WEIGHT CARRYING CAPACITY WHEN MATCHED TO A MAXIMUM LOADED TIRE. THIS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 120, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: PREMATURE WHEEL FAILURE CAN RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SPARE WHEEL WITH A NEW HIGHER CAPACITY WHEEL.
