Approximately one month after purchasing this vehicle new, I began experiencing a recurring loss-of-propulsion defect. Since XXX, the vehicle has repeatedly lost the ability to accelerate ("limp mode" / "turtle mode") without warning, and later experienced a complete no-start/shutdown failure caused by a PIM/IDCM power electronics failure (repaired ~XXX at approximately 15,650 miles). The vehicle has been in for repair 6 times, totaling approximately 120 days out of service. As of late XXX new (lesser) electrical issues have recurred and have not yet caused a full failure, but I have no confidence they will not recur at highway speed or in an isolated area. I drive an hour each way to work at night through rural, isolated southeast [XXX] with little to no cell service. A sudden loss of propulsion in this environment puts me at serious risk of being stranded in an unsafe location, or of a rear-end collision if the loss of power occurs in traffic. On XXX, the servicing dealership (Mitchell Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Enterprise, AL) told me the vehicle was "operating as expected" and to continue driving it until the problem occurs again — despite the documented recurring defect. I have an active NCDS arbitration claim open with Stellantis regarding this same defect (Case #Dodge XXX), and have requested repurchase/replacement under Alabama's Lemon Law. The vehicle experiencing issues with a faulty fuel tank and fuel system. This problem began shortly after the vehicle was purchased in 2024 from CarMax. The vehicle was used but low mileage almost brand new condition and manufacturer’s warranty. I formally requested that the manufacturer, Dodge, to replace the entire vehicle under warranty due to numerous repair attempts to fix the faulty fuel tank and system, which pose a safety risk. The manufacturer declined. The vehicle has led to leaks and pose potential fires accidents in or out of use.
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Dodge Hornet and 2023-2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale vehicles. The rear outboard seat belts may become twisted and fail to retract properly.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A seat belt that does not retract may fail to restrain properly an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the retractors, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning September 24, 2026. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale and Dodge Hornet vehicles. The display module may not show the rearview camera image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the software or replace the display as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning May 13, 2025. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's numbers for this recall are 13C and 38C.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Missing rim and tire size information could lead to an incorrect wheel being installed, increasing the risk of a crash.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle with an incorrect maximum capacity weight value may be overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-In Hybrid vehicles. The pedestrian alert siren may be missing or disconnected and fail to alert pedestrians when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Failure to alert pedestrians when backing up increases the risk of injury.
