VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON PREVOST BUSES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 120, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS." THESE MOTOR HOMES WERE ASSIGNED AN INADEQUATE FRONT AXLE WEIGHT RATING (FAWR). THEY WERE BUILT WITH INADEQUATE TIRES AND RIMS.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: THIS COULD CAUSE PREMATURE FRONT TIRE TREAD WEAR OR TIRE FAILURE DURING NORMAL DRIVING, LEADING TO A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REMOVE AND REPLACE THE FRONT TIRES, RIMS, AND AIR SPRING BAGS.
