I WAS TOLD THAT THE A/C EVAPORATOR UNIT IS NOT WORKING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SERVICE ADVISOR AT HEMET CHRYSLER ALSO STATED THAT CHRYSLER SENT OUT A PART BULLETIN ON THIS PART SINCE THEY ARE KNOWN TO FAIL, THAT CHRYSLER WILL BE REPLACING THE PART AT THE END OF YEAR WITH NEW PART. THIS IS MY THIRD CHRYSLER VEHICLE THAT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I CURRENTLY OWN 2015 DODGE CHARGER, 2015 DODGE DURANGO, AND 2016 CHRYSLER 300S THAT I'M HAVING ISSUES WITH. I DID CONTACT CHRYSLER FOR SOME ASSISTANCE SINCE IT'S A $2700 REPAIR SINCE MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND SINCE I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUE IN ALL THREE CARS. THEIR NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FOR THIS PART SINCE I THINK THEY KNOW OF HEIR A/C UNITS ARE FAILING.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED, WHICH RESULTED IN A FRONT END COLLISION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING AND AIR BAG INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FRONT END ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS DAMAGED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DESTROYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT KNEE, CHEST, AND LOWER BACK. THE CONTACT'S WIFE STRUCK HER HEAD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AND SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AT THE TIME. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM SHOULD BE SERVICED" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART IT TO RESUME DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE NEEDED TO KEEP HIS FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 93 IN BOSTON MA. WHEN WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE TRANSMISSION WENT FROM DRIVE INTO PARK AND THE CAR CAME TO A SCREECHING STOP. I WAS FORTUNATE THAT THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME WERE ABLE TO STOP IN TIME. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO DRIVE HOME AND CALLED THE DEALER, AND THEY MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I WOULD NOT DRIVE IT. I WAS TOLD THAT THE VALVE BODY WAS NO GOOD. THEY ORDERED THE PART, BUT WHEN THEY INSTALLED IT, I WAS TOLD THAT THAT PART WAS ALSO NO GOOD. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT THEY EVENTUALLY DID GET THE PART IN AND ADVISED ME THAT THE CAR HAD BEEN REPAIRED. AS OF THIS WRITING, I HAVE NOT PICKED UP THE CAR, AND QUITE FRANKLY I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT I WOULD NOT BE SO LUCKY IF THIS HAPPENED AGAIN ON THE HWY.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 vehicles equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD). The front driveshaft bolts may loosen and allow the front driveshaft to disconnect, potentially causing a loss of motive power.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A loss of motive power can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace all eight front driveshaft bolts, free of charge. The recall began April 7, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T03.
