THE FIRST INCIDENT OF THE CAR STALLING OCCURRED IN A PARKING LOT ON 8/18/18, IT JUST SHUT OFF WHILE STILL IN GEAR. I PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT AND I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING. LATER THAT SAME DAY, I WAS DRIVING HOME, THANKFULLY ON A QUIET ROAD. IT STARTED TO SPUTTER AND SHUT OFF AGAIN WHILE STILL IN GEAR. SOMEHOW I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THIS TIME, I COULD NOT GET IT RESTARTED, SO I CALLED MY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WHO TOWED THE CAR TO THE PLACE I PURCHASED IT. THEY CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS AND SAID THEY WERE OXIDIZED AND WERE PROBABLY THE CAUSE. I PICKED UP THE CAR ON 8/21/18 AND IT DROVE OK. THE NEXT DAY, I WAS DRIVING HOME AND AS I TURNED THE CORNER ONTO A BUSIER ROAD, IT STALLED AGAIN WHILE STILL IN GEAR. I COULD NOT GET IT TO RESTART AT ALL. THIS WAS QUITE SCARY EVEN THOUGH I WAS OVER AS FAR TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AS I COULD BE WITH MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AGAIN AND I RECEIVED A TEXT THAT THEY WOULD BE THERE IN LESS THAN 45 MINUTES, AND THEN ANOTHER STATING THEY WOULD BE THERE IN LESS THAN 20 MINUTES. THE SHERIFF THAT SHOWED UP SAID SHE WASN'T WAITING AROUND FOR 75 MINUTES AND FORCED ME TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED BY THE COUNTY TOW COMPANY AS SHE SAID IT WOULD BE FASTER. MY TOW COMPANY SHOWED UP LESS THAN 2 MINUTES AFTER THEIRS DID, BUT I WAS TOLD TOO BAD AND THEY TOOK MY CAR TO IMPOUND. I HAD TO COME UP WITH ALMOST $300 TO GET MY CAR OUT AND THEN I CALLED MY ROADSIDE AND THEY SWITCHED ME OVER TO CHRYSLER ROADSIDE WHO WAS ABLE TO TOW THE CAR TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALER, WHERE IT NOW SITS. SUDDENLY THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK UP AND WOULDN'T TURN. I CRUISE THE CAR TO THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WAITING FOR IT TO TURN RED IN ORDER TO TURN THE IGNITION OFF. WHEN THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURN GREEN I TURN THE IGNITION BACK ON BUT SUDDENLY THE WARNING LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND AGAIN I WASN'T ABLE TO STEER THE CAR OVER TO THE NEXT LANE IT FROZE UP. TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY AND A LARGE TRUCK WAS DRIVING BEHIND ME BLOWING HIS HORN FOR ME TO SPEED UP OR GET OUT OF THE WAY BUT I COULD NOT STEER THE CAR OVER. I PUT ON THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND TRY HARD TO STEER THE CAR UNTIL I REACH ANOTHER TRAFFIC LIGHT TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION. WHEN REACHING THE RED LIGHT I TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND TURN IT BACK ON AT THE GREEN LIGHT. THE WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF AGAIN AND THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED A LITTLE BETTER FOR ME TO CRUISE THE CAR IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE TO THE NEAREST SHOP. I WAS ABOUT 15 MILES FROM HOME AND ABLE TO STEER THE CAR IN A STRAIGHT LANE TO DRIVE SLOW WITH MY AMBER LIGHTS BLEEPING. THEN I NOTICE A FIRESTONE WAS OPEN, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCK UP AGAIN SO I JERK IT AS HARD AS I CAN TO STEER IT INTO THE PARKING LOT. THIS WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND THANKS GOD FOR HIS PROTECTION BECAUSE THIS COULD HAVE CAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE LIVES. FIRESTONE EXAMINE MY VEHICLE AND EXPLAIN WHAT THEY FELT THE PROBLEM WAS; ELECTRICAL, AND I HAD TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE FOLLOWING DAY THEY EXPLAIN TO ME THAT IT COULD BE MY BATTERY SO THEY REPLACE THE BATTERY STILL NO SUCCESS. CALL THE FOLLOWING DAY AND ASKED IF THEY BELIEVE THEY COULD REPAIR THE CAR AND THE MANAGER WAS HONEST AND SAID NO BECAUSE IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE, THE PARTS THAT IS NEEDED IS OUT OF STOCK AND THE CAR HAVE TO BE TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE SERVICE SYSTEM AIR BAG MASSAGE DISPLAYED AND THE AIR BAG INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO STALL IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ENGINE WAS STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JEEP ALL STAR (11503 ST. CHARLES ROCK RD., BRIDGETON, MO) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WAS FAULTILY. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CAUSE OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee and 2015 Chrysler 200, Jeep Renegade, RAM ProMaster, and 2016 Fiat 500X vehicles equipped with 9-speed automatic transmissions. The transmission sensor clusters may have insufficient crimps in the transmission wire harness, and as a result, the transmission may unexpectedly shift to neutral. On August 29, 2016 Chrysler added the 2016 Fiat 500X vehicles to this recall.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral, there is an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, dealers will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module and the Transmission Control Module and if necessary replace the transaxle range sensor wire harness, free of charge. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles manufactured April 7, 2014, to August 3, 2015. During service work, the affected vehicles may have had either the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) or the Seat Cushion Foam (SCF) of the front passenger seat replaced instead of the both pieces together, which make up a complete calibrated set.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If both pieces were not replaced together, the occupant detection and classification system may not be properly calibrated and the passenger air bag may improperly deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Consequence: Exploitation of the software vulnerability may result in unauthorized remote modification and control of certain vehicle systems, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify and mail affected owners a USB drive that includes a software update that eliminates the vulnerability, free of charge. Optionally, owners may download the update to their own USB drive from http://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/ or take their vehicle to a Chrysler dealer for immediate installation. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles manufactured March 9, 2014, to December 15, 2014, and equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission parking pawl may become contaminated or the park rod may become dislodged or broken. This may prevent the transmission from shifting into the Park position.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the shift indicator displays "Park" but the park lock does not engage, the vehicle may roll away increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers inspect the transmission. Any transmission found with contamination or a park rod will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began April 9, 2015. On July 23, 2015, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) launched Safety Recall 15V-461 to remedy security vulnerabilities in approximately 1.4 million model year (MY) 2013 through 2015 vehicles equipped with Uconnect head units (HU) 8.4A (RA3 radio) and 8.4AN (RA4 radio) manufactured by Harman International.On July 24, 2015, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Recall Query, RQ 15-004, to investigate HU security vulnerabilities and remedy effectiveness in the recalled population and to determine whether similar units have been supplied for use in other FCA vehicles.In an August 11, 2015 letter, FCA submitted a second Part 573 safety recall report expanding the scope of the Uconnect RA4 model radio to include additional 7,810 MY 2015 Jeep Renegade vehicles manufactured from September 18, 2014 through June 25, 2015 (Recall 15V-508).Scope analysis indicated that Uconnect radios installed in FCA vehicles not included in recalls 15V-461 or 15V-508 (subject recalls) are not equipped with built-in cellular access or short range wireless communication features and, thus, do not contain the security vulnerabilities addressed by the subject recalls.
