TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, WHEN MAKING TURNS OR CHANGING LANES, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL STEERING SYSTEM FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO FERMAN CHEVROLET OF TAMPA (LOCATED AT 9751 E ADAMO DR, TAMPA, FL 33619, (813) 623-2411), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8-4636845588. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

UNFORTUNATELY THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND I HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED. I PAID FOR THE REPAIR AND NOW JUST A FEW WEEKS LATER THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING. I HAVE THE VEHICLE SCHEDULED TO GO INTO THE SHOP AGAIN ON MONDAY.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver's air bag module, free of charge. GM began mailing final owner letters February 23, 2024 and will continue mailing through December 2025. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Unsecured side curtain air bags may not perform as intended, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, realign or replace the weld nuts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 24, 2021. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 14, 2015, 2015 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 20, 2015, and 2015 GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 16, 2015, and all equipped with Goodyear P255/65R18 Fortera HL tires. These vehicles are equipped with tires that may experience tread cracking. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims and Motor Home/Recreation Vehicle Trailer Load Carrying Capacity Information for Motor Vehicles with a GVWR of 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or Less."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the tire treads crack, a loss of tire pressure and possible tire failure may result, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires that were manufactured within a specific date range, free of charge. The rec all began on March 9, 2015.
