THE CAR HAS REMAINED PARKED DUE TO VACATION AND WORK SINCE THEN. TODAY, AUGUST 23, 2019 I CHECKED THE TIRE AND IT HAD ZERO PRESSURE. I REMOVED THE WHEEL AND NOTICED TWO CRACKS ON THE INSIDE EDGE OF THE WHEEL. I SPRAYED SOME SOAPY WATER AND VERIFIED THAT THE WHEEL IS LEAKING AIR FROM ONE OF THE CRACKS. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE TO SEE HOW TO GO ABOUT CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP FOR WARRANTY REPAIRS AND NOTICED MULTIPLE ONLINE COMPLAINTS TO INCLUDE A CHEVROLET CORVETTE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BY PLAINTIFF FILED ON 04/30/19 WHICH CLAIMS WHEELS EASILY BEND AND CRACK. I WILL CALL A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TOMORROW TO INQUIRE ABOUT REPLACEMENT BUT IT DOES NOT LOOK PROMISING BASED ON EVERYTHING I'VE READ ON LINE. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Cadillac CTS, 2017-2018 Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Camaro, and Chevrolet Corvette vehicles. The electric power steering (EPS) assist may fail.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A loss of power steering assist can require greater steering effort, especially at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the power steering gear assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 15, 2025. Owners may contact Cadilac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N252497020.

While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015-2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, 3500 HD, Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD, GMC Yukon, GMC Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac Escalade ESV vehicles and 2014-2017 Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500, Trax, Caprice Police Pursuit Vehicle, GMC Sierra 1500, Buick Encore, and 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse, Chevrolet Spark EV and SS vehicles. In the affected vehicles, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.
