Vehicle: 2024 Chevrolet Blazer VIN: [XXX] Component: Engine Cooling System (Radiator) Description of Incident: On XXX the vehicle was brought in for a routine maintenance service at approximately 20,000 miles. During the inspection, technicians at Hamilton Chevrolet in Warren, Michigan discovered a premature radiator leak. The servicing technician noted that this is a common failure on modern Blazers due to a manufacturing material mismatch, specifically where the plastic end tanks meet the aluminum radiator core. This structural component failure poses a severe safety risk. A rapid loss of engine coolant can cause immediate engine overheating, thermal management failure, and a sudden loss of vehicle propulsion while driving at highway speeds, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: The defect was located and the radiator was subsequently replaced under the factory warranty by Hamilton Chevrolet (Warren, MI). However, this failure occurred far too early in the vehicle's lifecycle, indicating a structural or material defect in the OEM radiator seams. Please investigate this issue, as premature cooling system failures on this model year present an ongoing safety hazard. I was driving to work as I normally do and work is only 15 miles away from home I get to work turn into the parking lot stop to scan my badge and I hear knocking noise I thought it was coming from the truck in front of me but after he moved on I still heard the noise and I found a parking spot as soon as I could and the engine light on the dash came on and the motor that was knocking is definitely my Blazer with only 11,222 miles on it. I always keep up on my vehicles maintenance in fact I just had the oil changed at Ray Skillman Gm Dealership2/16/26 it had 10,960 miles on it. Before that I had the oil changed at Ray Skillman 08/20/25 it had 7,720 miles on it then and before that. The very first oil change 22/ may /25 the mileage was 5,354 on it was at Hare Chevrolet where I purchased this Blazer RS Brand new it had 34 miles I always get the oil changed when it gets to 25%

The contact rented a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle vibrated and wobbled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed high speeds, the vehicle vibrated abnormally. The contact stated that the vibration felt like the wheels were detaching from the vehicle, causing the children's car seats to also vibrate. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The rental company was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 46,831.

Purchased a brand new 2024 Blazer on [XXX] - 11 miles on the vehicle from Friendly Chevrolet in Dallas, TX. Transmission failed at 1150 miles in Galveston, TX on [XXX]. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Blazer, Blazer EV, Equinox, and GMC Terrain vehicles. The door strikers may fracture, resulting in the door opening unexpectedly.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A door opening while the vehicle is being driven can increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace all four door strikers and attaching bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 24, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N232429911.

EA26006 · Electronic Brake Module Component Failure

On April 11, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE24011 after receiving complaints concerning a loss of brake assist in 2023 MY Cadillac Lyriq vehicles. These complaints allege a hard brake pedal, followed by a “Brake System Failure” message at start up or while driving. GM shared records regarding several internal investigations for loss of brake assist due to alleged spindle fractures in the eBoost system. GM has stated that in the event of a spindle fracture, anti-lock brakes (ABS), stability control, and traction control remain functional until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. At this point, ABS, brake assist, stability control, and traction control functions are lost. The loss of these functions causes the vehicle to set one of three Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) based on failed performance criteria for the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). These DTCs, in turn, activate several driver alerts: an audible chime, a visual “Service Brake System” message in the display, and multiple illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lights (MILs) for the ABS, Traction Control, and Brakes informing the driver of loss of functionality. The vehicle speed will also be limited to 70 KPH (43 MPH). Since opening PE24011, ODI has continued to receive reports of loss of brake assist. Some of these reports describe symptoms inconsistent with GM’s description of a spindle failure. These reports allege an immediate loss of brake assist functionality as opposed to the loss occurring after the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The sudden loss of brake assist during a braking event could result in extended braking distance, which increases the risk of a crash or injury. ODI believes further analysis is necessary to assess the potential for failures in GM’s eBoost system to resulting in safety-related outcomes. At this time, ODI is aware of the following vehicles that are equipped with this eBoost system: 2023-2026 MY Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon; 2024-2026 MY Buick Enclave, Envision; Chevrolet Blazer EV, Equinox EV, Traverse; Cruise Origin; and GMC Acadia; 2025-2026 MY Cadillac Celestiq and Optiq. ODI is also aware of 2024-2026 MY Acura ZDX and 2024-2026 MY Honda Prologue vehicles that were built with this system. The Acura and Honda vehicles were manufactured by GM in a joint venture with Honda, and will be included in the Engineering Analysis as peer vehicles. ODI is opening this Engineering Analysis to further assess the safety-related consequences of a failed eBoost system. In addition, ODI is expanding the scope of the investigation to encompass all GM vehicles that share this eBoost system.
