My 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV AWD has experienced two separate incidents involving sudden loss of propulsion without warning. First Incident – XXX While driving in [XXX], the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion without warning while I was in a turn lane in front of a medical center. Following the loss of propulsion, the Driver Information Center displayed warnings associated with the AWD system, shift system, and high-voltage system. The vehicle could not be driven or shifted and became disabled in the roadway, creating a potentially hazardous traffic situation. An expedited tow was required because of the location of the disabled vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a Chevrolet dealership in Novi, Michigan. I picked it up on XXX. I was informed that a vehicle-wide reprogramming had been performed, the vehicle had been updated with the latest available software, and the condition should be resolved. Second Incident –XXX Only 12 days after the vehicle was returned following the reprogramming, the vehicle experienced another sudden loss of propulsion without warning while my cousin was driving on [XXX]. Following this event, warnings were displayed indicating that the AWD system, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction-control system, and high-voltage system required service. During this incident, the vehicle could be shifted into Neutral. Good Samaritans pushed the disabled vehicle from the roadway into a nearby parking lot. OnStar was contacted, and the vehicle was towed back to the same Chevrolet dealership that had serviced the vehicle following the XXX incident. The vehicle has therefore experienced two sudden losses of propulsion within approximately two weeks, with the second event occurring only 12 days after a vehicle-wide software reprogramming intended to address the first event. Since buying the car in 2024 I have experienced multiple incidents where the system hard brakes for no reason, including times while driving. The emergency recall on this vehicle was repaired last year and since that repair this issue has occurred 2 more times, once earlier in 2026 and then most recently as yesterday despite claims by GM the issue has been fixed. My daughter currently drives this vehicle and is afraid she is going to get into an accident because of this issue. I tried to initiate a buyback but due to the miles on the vehicle GM would only settle for 4k.

Vehicle: 2024 Chevrolet Blazer VIN: [XXX] Component: Engine Cooling System (Radiator) Description of Incident: On XXX the vehicle was brought in for a routine maintenance service at approximately 20,000 miles. During the inspection, technicians at Hamilton Chevrolet in Warren, Michigan discovered a premature radiator leak. The servicing technician noted that this is a common failure on modern Blazers due to a manufacturing material mismatch, specifically where the plastic end tanks meet the aluminum radiator core. This structural component failure poses a severe safety risk. A rapid loss of engine coolant can cause immediate engine overheating, thermal management failure, and a sudden loss of vehicle propulsion while driving at highway speeds, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: The defect was located and the radiator was subsequently replaced under the factory warranty by Hamilton Chevrolet (Warren, MI). However, this failure occurred far too early in the vehicle's lifecycle, indicating a structural or material defect in the OEM radiator seams. Please investigate this issue, as premature cooling system failures on this model year present an ongoing safety hazard. The radiator had a crack that nobody located even though I had been smelling antifreeze since I purchased it at 24,000 miles just over a year ago. I brought it in for an oil change today because I was leaving town for the weekend tomorrow and now a hole had blown through the bottom of the radiator. Had this happened when I was in a remote area of the mountains without cell service this could have been a very big problem. Or had it blown while traveling up the mountain pass it would have put my life and others passing me on the road at risk. There weren't any warning lights on and the car never overheated. There weren't any outward leaks up until the hole was blown in the radiator. I have had it in several times for oil changes and there were never any visible leaks noted. Luckily my engine never blew because I've been driving with a cracked radiator for at least a year now.

While driving my 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV, the vehicle suffered a sudden, complete failure of the power braking assist system. The failure was accompanied by a rapid cascade of three sequential dashboard warning messages in immediate succession: First Warning: "Service ESC" illuminated alongside the "Brake Park" warning light. Second Warning: "Brake Assist Failure. Press Hard to Brake. Speed Limited" illuminated with "Brake Park" remaining on. Third Warning: "Brake System Failure. 62 MPH Top Speed" illuminated with "Brake Park" remaining on. Immediately upon these warnings triggering, the power braking assist and emergency mechanical reserve failed completely. When pressing the brake pedal, the vehicle did not slow down, and the pedal failed to engage the brakes. To avoid a catastrophic intersection collision and bring the vehicle to a halt, I was forced to deliberately steer the vehicle into a concrete curb to use friction to stop the car. The vehicle is a total loss of braking safety and cannot be driven. Safety Risk: The sudden loss of braking assist creates an immediate crash hazard, as stopping distances are severely multiplied. Limiting a vehicle to a maximum speed of 62 mph while experiencing zero brake assist on active roadways places the driver and surrounding traffic in extreme danger.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Blazer, Blazer EV, Equinox, and GMC Terrain vehicles. The door strikers may fracture, resulting in the door opening unexpectedly.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A door opening while the vehicle is being driven can increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace all four door strikers and attaching bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 24, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N232429911.

EA26006 · Electronic Brake Module Component Failure

On April 11, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE24011 after receiving complaints concerning a loss of brake assist in 2023 MY Cadillac Lyriq vehicles. These complaints allege a hard brake pedal, followed by a “Brake System Failure” message at start up or while driving. GM shared records regarding several internal investigations for loss of brake assist due to alleged spindle fractures in the eBoost system. GM has stated that in the event of a spindle fracture, anti-lock brakes (ABS), stability control, and traction control remain functional until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. At this point, ABS, brake assist, stability control, and traction control functions are lost. The loss of these functions causes the vehicle to set one of three Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) based on failed performance criteria for the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). These DTCs, in turn, activate several driver alerts: an audible chime, a visual “Service Brake System” message in the display, and multiple illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lights (MILs) for the ABS, Traction Control, and Brakes informing the driver of loss of functionality. The vehicle speed will also be limited to 70 KPH (43 MPH). Since opening PE24011, ODI has continued to receive reports of loss of brake assist. Some of these reports describe symptoms inconsistent with GM’s description of a spindle failure. These reports allege an immediate loss of brake assist functionality as opposed to the loss occurring after the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The sudden loss of brake assist during a braking event could result in extended braking distance, which increases the risk of a crash or injury. ODI believes further analysis is necessary to assess the potential for failures in GM’s eBoost system to resulting in safety-related outcomes. At this time, ODI is aware of the following vehicles that are equipped with this eBoost system: 2023-2026 MY Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon; 2024-2026 MY Buick Enclave, Envision; Chevrolet Blazer EV, Equinox EV, Traverse; Cruise Origin; and GMC Acadia; 2025-2026 MY Cadillac Celestiq and Optiq. ODI is also aware of 2024-2026 MY Acura ZDX and 2024-2026 MY Honda Prologue vehicles that were built with this system. The Acura and Honda vehicles were manufactured by GM in a joint venture with Honda, and will be included in the Engineering Analysis as peer vehicles. ODI is opening this Engineering Analysis to further assess the safety-related consequences of a failed eBoost system. In addition, ODI is expanding the scope of the investigation to encompass all GM vehicles that share this eBoost system.
