My 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV AWD has experienced two separate incidents involving sudden loss of propulsion without warning. First Incident – XXX While driving in [XXX], the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion without warning while I was in a turn lane in front of a medical center. Following the loss of propulsion, the Driver Information Center displayed warnings associated with the AWD system, shift system, and high-voltage system. The vehicle could not be driven or shifted and became disabled in the roadway, creating a potentially hazardous traffic situation. An expedited tow was required because of the location of the disabled vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a Chevrolet dealership in Novi, Michigan. I picked it up on XXX. I was informed that a vehicle-wide reprogramming had been performed, the vehicle had been updated with the latest available software, and the condition should be resolved. Second Incident –XXX Only 12 days after the vehicle was returned following the reprogramming, the vehicle experienced another sudden loss of propulsion without warning while my cousin was driving on [XXX]. Following this event, warnings were displayed indicating that the AWD system, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction-control system, and high-voltage system required service. During this incident, the vehicle could be shifted into Neutral. Good Samaritans pushed the disabled vehicle from the roadway into a nearby parking lot. OnStar was contacted, and the vehicle was towed back to the same Chevrolet dealership that had serviced the vehicle following the XXX incident. The vehicle has therefore experienced two sudden losses of propulsion within approximately two weeks, with the second event occurring only 12 days after a vehicle-wide software reprogramming intended to address the first event. "While attempting to merge onto a high-speed freeway on-ramp, the vehicle suffered a sudden and catastrophic loss of engine power, rendering it unable to accelerate and creating an immediate life-threatening safety hazard. The vehicle was restarte and driven home, where an onboard diagnostic check revealed an emissions system failure. The dealership later confirmed that BOTH close-coupled catalytic converters on the 3.6L V6 were damaged. The check engine light was a solid light. Not flashing.

This is the 2nd time I have been left stranded unable to charge my vehicle due to the charge door malfuction on the vehicle. This is a safty issue due to the fact that if you are unable to charge the vehicle, you can get starnded somewhere unsafe putting yourself and family at risk. This charge door failure has happened once within 8 months after purchasing the vehicle, the charge door was replaced under warranty back a year ago. Now its has started to bind up and not open leaving me unable to charge my vehicle. I have taken the vehicle back to the dealership and they had to special order the part. Currenty I have not been able to charge my vhecile properly. I have to forcefully open the charge door causing more damage, until the part is replaced. Please look into this issue, I have contacted other Blazer EV owners and have found they too have had the same peoblem.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Blazer, Blazer EV, Equinox, and GMC Terrain vehicles. The door strikers may fracture, resulting in the door opening unexpectedly.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A door opening while the vehicle is being driven can increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace all four door strikers and attaching bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 24, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N232429911.

EA26006 · Electronic Brake Module Component Failure

On April 11, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE24011 after receiving complaints concerning a loss of brake assist in 2023 MY Cadillac Lyriq vehicles. These complaints allege a hard brake pedal, followed by a “Brake System Failure” message at start up or while driving. GM shared records regarding several internal investigations for loss of brake assist due to alleged spindle fractures in the eBoost system. GM has stated that in the event of a spindle fracture, anti-lock brakes (ABS), stability control, and traction control remain functional until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. At this point, ABS, brake assist, stability control, and traction control functions are lost. The loss of these functions causes the vehicle to set one of three Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) based on failed performance criteria for the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). These DTCs, in turn, activate several driver alerts: an audible chime, a visual “Service Brake System” message in the display, and multiple illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lights (MILs) for the ABS, Traction Control, and Brakes informing the driver of loss of functionality. The vehicle speed will also be limited to 70 KPH (43 MPH). Since opening PE24011, ODI has continued to receive reports of loss of brake assist. Some of these reports describe symptoms inconsistent with GM’s description of a spindle failure. These reports allege an immediate loss of brake assist functionality as opposed to the loss occurring after the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The sudden loss of brake assist during a braking event could result in extended braking distance, which increases the risk of a crash or injury. ODI believes further analysis is necessary to assess the potential for failures in GM’s eBoost system to resulting in safety-related outcomes. At this time, ODI is aware of the following vehicles that are equipped with this eBoost system: 2023-2026 MY Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon; 2024-2026 MY Buick Enclave, Envision; Chevrolet Blazer EV, Equinox EV, Traverse; Cruise Origin; and GMC Acadia; 2025-2026 MY Cadillac Celestiq and Optiq. ODI is also aware of 2024-2026 MY Acura ZDX and 2024-2026 MY Honda Prologue vehicles that were built with this system. The Acura and Honda vehicles were manufactured by GM in a joint venture with Honda, and will be included in the Engineering Analysis as peer vehicles. ODI is opening this Engineering Analysis to further assess the safety-related consequences of a failed eBoost system. In addition, ODI is expanding the scope of the investigation to encompass all GM vehicles that share this eBoost system.
