CAR IS LEAKING ANTI-FREEZE BECAUSE OF A BAD ENGINE HEAD GASKET. DEALER REPLACED HEAD GASKET, AND IT BROKE AGAIN. CONSUMER HAS REPLACED 3 HEAD GASKETS FROM 12-26-96 THROUGH 01-27-00. *AK
MACHANIC TOUCHED IDLE WHEEL AND IT FELL INTO ENGINE.THE MACHANIC CALLED THE CHEVY DEALER AND HE WAS TOLD THE BACK SIDE OF THE IDLE WHEEL WAS KNOWN TO WROUGHT OUT AND FALL INTO ENGINE.IF HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ENGINE BLOWS AND YOU LOSE POWER.COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENT AND INJURY EXSPECIALLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS.

THE PAINT ON THE HOOD BUBBLES UP IN THE HEAT. THEY ARE LIKE AIR BUBBLES. THESE BUBBLES ARE ABLE TO BE POPPED. THE SITUATION GETS WORSE WHEN THE VEHICLE SITS OUTSIDE. I KNOW IT ISN'T A CHEMICAL OR SOMETHING THAT GOT ONTO THE SURFACE TO CAUSE THIS BECAUSE THE CAR IS KEPT CLEAN ALL THE TIME. THERE IS NEVER A TIME WHEN THE CAR IS DIRTY.
UPON REAR AND THEN FORWARD IMPACT , MY DRIVER SEAT BROKE AT THE BASE AND I TRAVELLED PART WAY INTO THE BACK SEAT. MY DOCTOR BELIEVES THAT MY NECK INJURY WOULD NOT BE SO SEVERE IF THE SEAT HAD NOT BROKEN.
AFTER VEHICLE HAD JUST BEEN TURNED OFF AND PARKED A FIRE TOOK PLACE INSIDE OF THE PASSENGER'S COMPARTMENT UNDER THE DASH. THIS WAS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN VEHICLE. *AK

THE REINFORCEMENT PANEL THAT SERVES AS A LIFTPOINT FOR THE FRAME WAS OMITTED FROM THE RIGHT SIDE ROCKER ASSEMBLY OF THE FRAME THE VEHICLES DO NOT CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 208, "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: THE MISSING REINFORCEMENT PANEL REDUCES THE PROTECTION OF THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS IN THE EVENT OF A SIDE IMPACT COLLISION.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE VEHICLES FOR THE PRESENCE OF THE RIGHT SIDE ROCKER REINFORCEMENT PANEL. IF THE REINFORCEMENT PANEL IS NOT PRESENT, DEALERS WILL CONTACT CHEVROLET FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.

THE SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLIES DO NOT MEET GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION'S SPECIFICATION FOR WELD INTEGRITY AND THE AFFECTED WELD CAN FAIL CAUSING THE FRONT OF THE CONTROL ARM TO SEPARATE FROM THE SUSPENSION SUPPORT ASSEMBLY.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: IF THIS OCCURS, THE AFFECTED TIRE/WHEEL ASSEMBLY CAN MOVESUBSTANTIALLY FROM ITS DESIGNED POSITION AND STEERING CONTROL CAN BE SEVERELYIMPAIRED WHICH MAY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
Remedy: INSTALL REVISED SUSPENSION SUPPORTS WITH ADEQUATE WELD INTEGRITY.
