WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE TRAILER SWAYED AND SKIDDED ONTO A GRAVEL SURFACE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CARNAI CONCEPT 290 TRAILER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE TRAILER SWAYED AND SKIDDED ONTO A GRAVEL SURFACE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE TRAILER REMAINED ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE, BUT THE AXLE DISCONNECTED FROM THE FRAME. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE LEASE SPRING, WHICH FAILED UNEXPECTEDLY. THE TRAILER WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 5,000.
