The phone charging cradle, Bluetooth, wifi, and Radio are getting disconnected, repair made 3-4 times, and still the same problem, also dashboard screen getting dark or disconnected while driving the car. On 01/09 2025, 10 pm I connected to charge the battery and it didn't charge the whole night when I started the car, and heard a big bang like a bomb blew the electrical battery in my garage, thank god I didn't get injured or damage to my garage/home. I took the 5th time to the dealer and asked General Moror to buy back the car. I have filed a written complaint with BBB OF NEW JERSEY and Lemon Law. Thank god I wasn't driving the car on highway when the car battery blew up otherwise I would have or other people would have gotten injured or dead.

I pulled my vehicle in my garage and was lightly tapping the accelerator to get the vehicle far enough in to avoid it interfering with the garage door. I had one-pedal driving engaged so I was not using my brake pedal. Once positioned I was getting ready to put it in park and the vehicle rapidly accelerated as if someone was stomping on the accelerator. It slammed into a refrigerator I have in the garage, pushing it about 2 inches into the wall, breaking through the drywall. The impact was so hard the refrigerator door also popped open and stuff went flying out. I had to slam on my brakes to get it to stop moving forward even though my foot was not on the accelerator.

Vehicle dash won't activate beyond the welcome screen thereby preventing me from seeing the speedometer, fuel gage, lane sensors, navigation, etc. I had to drive it on side streets to the closest dealer without aid of any standard dash meters.

The bigger issue is the car will prematurely dim the display and dusk/dawn - making it very hard to see at those times - even with max dimmer setting. Took it to the dealer multiple times they say it’s working as expected but it’s a known issue for all lyriq owners that GM ignores

The vehicle's instrument panel automatically dims excessively at dusk and dawn. When it does this, the speedometer and other information in the dashboard are not visible. There is no way to adjust the brightness any higher and no way to disable this auto dim feature. This is, to my knowledge, a known software bug that has persisted for close to two years without any effort by GM to rectify this safety issue.

When approaching sunset, or when travelling under bridges, the dash dims excessively and is barely readable. I have to take my eyes off the road for extended periods of time to be able to see the information. The excessive dim does not reset itself, when the ambient lighting returns to normal, for a prolonged period of time. Complaints to the dealer service department, GM EV Concierge, and OnStar have not had any effect on resolving this. Tnis is an ongoing problem since delivery of the vehicle.

EA26006 · Electronic Brake Module Component Failure

Opened Aug 21, 2026 · No close date supplied

Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Service Brakes

On April 11, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE24011 after receiving complaints concerning a loss of brake assist in 2023 MY Cadillac Lyriq vehicles. These complaints allege a hard brake pedal, followed by a “Brake System Failure” message at start up or while driving. GM shared records regarding several internal investigations for loss of brake assist due to alleged spindle fractures in the eBoost system. GM has stated that in the event of a spindle fracture, anti-lock brakes (ABS), stability control, and traction control remain functional until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. At this point, ABS, brake assist, stability control, and traction control functions are lost. The loss of these functions causes the vehicle to set one of three Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) based on failed performance criteria for the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). These DTCs, in turn, activate several driver alerts: an audible chime, a visual “Service Brake System” message in the display, and multiple illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lights (MILs) for the ABS, Traction Control, and Brakes informing the driver of loss of functionality. The vehicle speed will also be limited to 70 KPH (43 MPH). Since opening PE24011, ODI has continued to receive reports of loss of brake assist. Some of these reports describe symptoms inconsistent with GM’s description of a spindle failure. These reports allege an immediate loss of brake assist functionality as opposed to the loss occurring after the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The sudden loss of brake assist during a braking event could result in extended braking distance, which increases the risk of a crash or injury. ODI believes further analysis is necessary to assess the potential for failures in GM’s eBoost system to resulting in safety-related outcomes. At this time, ODI is aware of the following vehicles that are equipped with this eBoost system: 2023-2026 MY Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon; 2024-2026 MY Buick Enclave, Envision; Chevrolet Blazer EV, Equinox EV, Traverse; Cruise Origin; and GMC Acadia; 2025-2026 MY Cadillac Celestiq and Optiq. ODI is also aware of 2024-2026 MY Acura ZDX and 2024-2026 MY Honda Prologue vehicles that were built with this system. The Acura and Honda vehicles were manufactured by GM in a joint venture with Honda, and will be included in the Engineering Analysis as peer vehicles. ODI is opening this Engineering Analysis to further assess the safety-related consequences of a failed eBoost system. In addition, ODI is expanding the scope of the investigation to encompass all GM vehicles that share this eBoost system. To review the ODI reports cited in the Opening Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.
