33 reportsSHIFTED CAR INTO REVERSE AND FORWARD GEARS, CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. AFTER AWHILE CAR WOULD SLOWLY START TO MOVE, THEN PICK-UP SPEED AND OPERATE PROPERLY. TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED.
TRANSMISSION COOLER UNIT FAILED PRIOR TO RECALL CAUSING LEAKAGE (96V-015), TRANSMISSION FAILED 20,00 MILES AFTER REPAIR. YH
THE INSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION WAS RUSTED. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO SHIFT, BUT VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. VEHICLE WAS HARD TO SHIFT AT TIMES, ESPECIALLY FROM PARK TO REVERSE. ALSO, HAD RADIATOR CHANGED DUE TO RUST FROM TRANSMISSION. *YC
AT 61,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION HAS COMPLETELY MALFUNCTIONED. CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
THE TRANSMISSON LINE SEPARATES AND LEAKS TRANSMISSION FLUID ONTO THE EXHAUST PIPE. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE PROLBEM HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. *AK

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM AUGUST 1991 THROUGH JULY 1995. THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINE CAN SEPARATE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED IN LOW TEMPERATURES IN COMBINATION WITH HIGH TRANSMISSION LOADS.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: VEHICLE FIRES CAN OCCUR DUE TO THE SPILLAGE OF TRANSMISSION FLUID.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINES.
