One year after purchasing this new vehicle, the two rear tires were worn to 4/32nds. The dealer advised they need to be replaced. I am [XXX], with no accelerated starts or hard braking, so after one year and 7,500 miles, the rear tires were up for replacement. One year after purchasing this new vehicle, the two rear tires were worn to 4/32nds. The dealer advised they need to be replaced. I am [XXX], with no accelerated starts or hard braking, so after one year and 7,500 miles, the rear tires were up for replacement. The dealer reluctantly did a forced balance, which I paid for and BMW Corporate reimbursed. They did not do anything for toe/camber. I do not know if they were out of spec from the factory for balance, toe/camber/alignment or if the tires were faulty. The dealers' only guidance was to replace. So I went to a Firestone dealer and had the tires replaced 255/35R19 96Y for $200 less than the BMW dealer wanted to sell them. BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2026 M4 and 430i vehicles. The positive battery cables may not be properly connected to the power distribution box, resulting in an engine stall and a fire.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: An engine stall increases the risk of a crash and a fire increases the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace cables and power distribution box as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 20, 2025. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 17, 2025.
