The contact owns a 2026 BMW 430I. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stopped and independently parked. Several warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to two dealers; however, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was taken to a third dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed engine electrical system, digital motor electronic control unit, and transfer case failure. The contact was informed that the transfer case and basic control unit DME needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 7,819.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An engine stall increases the risk of a crash and a fire increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace cables and power distribution box as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 20, 2025.
