While towing our 2024 Black Series HQ21 travel trailer (VIN [XXX]) at under 5 mph while pulling in to park, the driver's side rear axle tire experienced a tread/belt separation and blew out. The incident occurred on XXX at approximately 10:14 AM. The trip prior to the failure was less than 3 miles, tire pressures had been checked before departure, and cumulative mileage on the trailer is estimated at under 1,500 miles. No crash or injury occurred; damage was limited to the tire itself. The trailer was equipped with Wanli GeoHunter M/T tires as installed by the manufacturer. Tread separation and blowout failures on these OEM tires appear to be a widespread, recurring issue reported by numerous other Black Series HQ21 owners on RV owner forums, suggesting a defect in the tire or its suitability/rating for this trailer's load requirements rather than an isolated incident. The manufacturer (Black Series Campers) offered to replace the wheels/tires at no cost, but only if the owner pays freight shipping, which was quoted at a cost exceeding what a full new tire set would cost if purchased directly — an unreasonable remedy given the apparent widespread nature of the defect.
