TRAILER GATE/RAMP FRAME BROKE CAUSING THE GATE TO NEARLY FALL OFF. IF THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON THE OTHER SIDE THE GATE WOULD FALL AND DRAG ON HIGHWAY. THE END RESULT WOULD BE THE SAME AS A PREVIOUS SAFETY RECALL FROM THIS MANUFACTURE IN 2013 NHTSA # 13V-508. I DID CONTACT BIG TEX TRAILER MANUFACTURING INC. AND PROVIDED PICT…

TRAILER GATE/RAMP FRAME BROKE CAUSING THE GATE TO NEARLY FALL OFF. IF THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON THE OTHER SIDE THE GATE WOULD FALL AND DRAG ON HIGHWAY. THE END RESULT WOULD BE THE SAME AS A PREVIOUS SAFETY RECALL FROM THIS MANUFACTURE IN 2013 NHTSA # 13V-508. I DID CONTACT BIG TEX TRAILER MANUFACTURING INC. AND PROVIDED PICTURES. BECAUSE TRAILER IS OVER 1 YEAR OLD THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED IN INVESTIGATING THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THEY ALSO WOULD NOT ADVISE OF A PROPER REPAIR FOR THE DAMAGED SECTION AND NO GUIDANCE ON HOW TO INSPECT THE OTHER SIDE. TRAILER WAS PURCHASED NEW ON 03/07/2015. TRAILER HAS LIGHT USAGE AS IT'S FOR PERSONAL USE. THE BRACKET WELDED ON IS MUCH THICKER THAN THE FRAME. THE WELD AND BRACKET ARE IN GOOD CONDITION BUT THE METAL FRAME MATERIAL IS TO THIN AND CAN NOT WITHSTAND THE NATURAL MOVEMENT AND VIBRATIONS FROM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND TWO LANE ROADS.
