Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2026 DC (Legend) vehicles. The incorrect blower motor fuse may have been installed.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: An incorrect fuse may fail to trip, allowing the blower to short circuit and increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 29, 2025. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2503.

25V036000 · Suspension:critical Fasteners

Jan 28, 2025

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2026 Autocar DC (Legend) trucks. The cab shock absorber bracket fasteners may have been improperly secured, allowing the fasteners to detach.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A detached fastener can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and secure or replace the fasteners as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 27, 2025. Owners may contact Autocar at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2502.

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2024 DC (Legend). The horizontal exhaust diffuser may be improperly positioned and vent exhaust toward the CNG fuel tank.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Exhaust fumes can overheat the fuel tank, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and reposition the exhaust diffuser as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 25, 2024. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2406.

May 6, 2024

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. The wiring harness may route fusible links too closely to other components.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: During a short circuit, the fusible link may ignite nearby material, increasing the risk of a fire.

Apr 11, 2024

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 DC (Legend) dump trucks. The upper hoist cylinder mounting pin may fail.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A pin failure can allow the hoist to fall, increasing the risk of injury. In addition, the hoist cylinder can disconnect from the vehicle, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. The hazard warning lights may not function independent of the ignition switch. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Warning lights that do not illuminate when the ignition switch is in the OFF position can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. A software error may cause the low air pressure warning to not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A low air pressure warning that does not function properly can result in driving without functioning brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2016-2023 ACX (Xpeditor) and 2021-2023 DC (Legend) vehicles. The park brake warning light may incorrectly illuminate during an air loss event. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A park brake warning light that illuminates incorrectly increases the risk of a crash.

Autocar, LLC. (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 DC (Legend) vehicles. The steering column shaft may not have been properly welded.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: An improperly welded steering column shaft can separate and cause a sudden loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Consequence: Loose seat belt mounting fasteners may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 ACX (Xpeditor) and 2020-2023 DC (Legend) vehicles. The powertrain driveline center support bearing hardware may not have been properly secured.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: An improperly secured powertrain driveline can detach from the vehicle and cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, secure or replace the powertrain driveline support bearing hardware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 18, 2023. Autocar, LLC. (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Legend, Xpeditor, and Xspotter trucks equipped with Sheppard Steering Gears. The steering gears may have been assembled incorrectly,which can cause the gear to fracture.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A fractured steering gear can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Xpeditor and 2020-2022 Legend vehicles. The fuel tubes between the fuel rail and the injectors for cylinders four, five, and six may fatigue and crack, which can result in a high pressure fuel leak.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A high pressure fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Cummins will replace the fuel tubes, and install vibration isolators, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed January 28, 2022.
