2024 Acura Zdx

I am reporting repeated unintended automatic emergency braking in my 2024 Acura ZDX. The vehicle was leased new on April 9, 2025 and currently has approximately 9,500 miles. The system involved appears to be the Forward Collision Warning/Automatic Emergency Braking system and related braking controls. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. On September 14, 2026, while driving at less than 25 mph, the forward collision warning suddenly activated even though there was no pedestrian, vehicle, or other apparent obstruction requiring emergency braking. Immediately after the warning, the vehicle automatically applied the brakes abruptly. The sudden braking caused the driver to be thrown forward, and she experienced neck pain afterward. This is not an isolated incident. The vehicle has experienced similar unintended collision warnings and/or automatic braking events multiple times and at different speeds, including at higher roadway and freeway speeds. These events create a serious safety risk because sudden, unexpected braking can cause the vehicle to be struck from behind, can cause injury to the occupants, and could potentially cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle has been taken to the same authorized Acura dealership at least twice specifically for this unintended braking problem. The dealership has performed software updates or other software-related service in an effort to correct the problem, but the unintended braking has continued. The vehicle has been presented to the dealer multiple times for this specific complaint and repair attempts were made. Acura has now been notified directly of the continuing safety problem and has opened a case. The vehicle is being made available to the Acura dealership again for inspection and diagnosis. There were no warning lamps or messages indicating a malfunction before the most recent event.

The shark-fin antenna housing on my Acura ZDX appears to have a defect in the way it is secured to the vehicle. The housing can separate from the roof during normal vehicle operation, creating a road hazard and potentially striking another vehicle, cyclist, or pedestrian. I reported the issue to Acura, but the company stated that the repair was not covered under warranty. I have found reports from other Acura ZDX and Honda Prologue owners describing the same failure. Although some dealerships have covered the repair, replacing or reattaching the housing does not necessarily correct the underlying design or retention defect. Because this component can detach from a moving vehicle and become a projectile, I believe it presents a legitimate safety risk. I am requesting that this issue be investigated to determine how widespread it is and whether a recall or redesigned attachment method is necessary.

Approximately three weeks ago, following a manufacturer-issued software update, the AcuraLink connected services app stopped functioning on my 2024 Acura ZDX. This outage has disabled OnStar-connected safety features including remote monitoring and emergency/roadside assistance connectivity and concerned there were other technology issues that may affect this, but I’m not aware exactly all of them. Additionally, none of the remote features work. This vehicle is an electric vehicle and there is no ability to monitor the status of the battery charge or to monitor the battery. Given the amount of technology in this electric vehicle the fact that the remote functions are not working presents a severe safety problem. I have contacted both OnStar and Acura customer support multiple times; both confirm awareness of the outage issue but have provided no fix or timeline. Both companies have taken no responsibility and their communication is terrible.The outage began around August 3, 2026 and remains unresolved as of August 20.

CONTEMPORANEOUS NOTE 2024 ACURA ZDX – AWD - NHTSA Recall No. 26V306000 Date: XXX Time: 12:25 PM On XXX at approximately 12:25 PM, I contacted Miami Acura Service at [XXX] to schedule the recently issued rear-view camera safety recall 26V306000 for my 2024 Acura ZDX. I was advised by the dealership representative that no appointments were being scheduled for the recall at this time because the required parts and tools had not yet been received by the dealership. As a result, I was unable to schedule the recall repair. However, she said she would take my number and put me on a waiting list when the hardware came in. Today is XXX and I have not been contacted by the dealer for this safety recall. I am still experiencing other intermittent issues that are non-related and have not been identified by Acura: ghost braking, improper shift status, collision mitigation without anything around, conditions not ready to shift, press start button and try to shift and gears are frozen. This was brougth to the attention of the Service Dept at Miami Acura and here we are 4 month later the vehicle is experiencing intermittent issues and the Safety Recall has not been applied in over 45 days. The contact owns a 2024 Acura ZDX. The contact received notice of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V306000 (Back Over Prevention). The contact stated that while in reverse(R), the rear-view camera became inoperable with a red or yellow caution sign displayed on the screen. Additionally, the contact stated that while the vehicle was in reverse(R) on several occasions, the electric side mirrors rotated down, and the driver could see objects and other vehicles behind the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the contact was informed that a software update was needed. The software update was performed, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was diagnosed another time, and it was determined that the rear-view camera and an unknown part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that on one occasion, after the dealer visit, while in reverse(R) with the rear-view camera displaying a blank screen, the vehicle reversed into another parked vehicle. The contact had to physically turn while reversing, but did not see the vehicle. There was no injury sustained. A Police report was not filed. The other vehicle sustained minor damage. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,915.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to perform the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The braking system does not engage properly and is worse in the rain. When adaptive cruise control is on, the car does not slow down at every instance when there is a car in front slowing down. When the car finally realizes there's an object/car in front it then slips before engaging in traction control, which seems to make the car actually slide forward rather than attempting to stop immediately.

My 2024 Acura ZDX has an intermittent braking-related malfunction that causes the vehicle to jerk unexpectedly while slowing or stopping. The problem has occurred in stop-and-go traffic, on hills, and while reversing. The exact cause is UNKNOWN. This creates a serious safety risk because the vehicle does not always respond smoothly or predictably when braking. In traffic, the sudden jerking could cause a rear-end collision or make it difficult to maintain a safe stopping distance. On hills or while reversing, the unpredictable movement could cause the vehicle to strike another vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist, child, or object. The vehicle has also experienced unusually rapid battery depletion, raising concern that it could become disabled unexpectedly in traffic, severe weather, or an unsafe location. Any relationship between the battery issue and the braking problem is UNKNOWN. The vehicle has been taken to authorized Acura dealerships multiple times, including Acura of Westchester and Curry Acura. The condition was reported repeatedly. The dealers stated they could not duplicate it, even after an extended road test of more than 300 miles. No permanent diagnosis or repair was provided, and the problem remains unresolved. Acura/American Honda was notified and opened a corporate case. There were no consistent warning lights or dashboard messages before the incidents. Because the malfunction is intermittent and may occur without warning, I cannot predict when the vehicle will jerk or fail to stop smoothly. No crash or injury has occurred, but I believe this defect presents an unreasonable risk of collision and pedestrian injury. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

My 2024 Acura ZDX A-Spec is impacted by the NHTSA Campaign Number 26V112000 (blank instrument panel/rearview camera). I took the vehicle to the dealership for the recall software update. The service invoice explicitly states: 'software update due performed software update on vehicle A11.' However, the update did not actually apply. The A11 module update is supposed to transition the infotainment system from Android 12 to Android 14 to resolve the safety issue. My vehicle is still stuck on Android 12, and Acura has incorrectly advised me that my trim does not get the update. The dealership's diagnostic tools are falsely reporting that the A11 safety recall update was successfully completed when it has not been, leaving my vehicle's camera and instrument panel vulnerable to failure. I have attached the service invoice as proof of the failed repair attempt. I have contacted Acura Customer Relations multiple times and advised that the recall is not complete. They have marked the recall update as complete.

On [XXX] at approximately 700 miles on a 2024 Acura ZDX A-Spec AWD (VIN [XXX] ), the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) failed to engage during a collision event. The system did not provide forward collision warning and did not initiate automatic emergency braking before impact. The collision resulted in minor damage to my vehicle. There were no injuries. CMBS is a manufacturer-installed automatic emergency braking system designed and marketed as a primary collision-avoidance safety feature; its failure to engage in an impending-impact scenario is a safety-critical defect. This CMBS failure is one of multiple safety system defects on this vehicle. Beginning at approximately 200 miles, the rear Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) developed progressive failures, including: Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Park Assist intermittently non-functional Blind Spot Monitoring failures on both left and right sides (DTCs U197A-00 confirmed by independent pre-repair diagnostic scan) A stress-cracked rear parking sensor housing A factory wiring harness routed incorrectly from the vehicle side, causing mechanical tension on the rear parking sensor connector and mounting bracket (confirmed in writing by the Acura dealer service manager on Repair Order [XXX][ dated February 25, 2026) American Honda Motor Co. (AHM) refused to honor the factory warranty, asserting without supporting forensic evidence that the defects were caused by an unspecified "outside influence" or "third-party repairs." I pursued and won binding consumer arbitration through the National Center for Dispute Settlement (NCDS Case [XXX]). On March 30, 2026, the arbitrator ruled that AHM had not met its warranty obligations and that no proof of any outside influence had been offered. The arbitrator ordered AHM to perform warranty repair of all the affected safety systems plus reimbursement of a diagnostic fee. AHM has not complied with the binding arbitration award.
