On [XXX], at 82,371 miles, my daughter's 2022 Volvo XC60 T8 Recharge was diagnosed with DTC BECM-P0BBD92 (Hybrid/High Voltage Battery Pack Voltage Variation) and a confirmed Cell Module F failure (Repair Order #[XXX], Bob Penkhus Motor Co Volvo Cars, Colorado Springs, CO). The dealer instructed her not to charge the vehicle pending repair. The replacement part (Cell Module F, Part #36003341) has been on indefinite backorder since diagnosis — initially quoted at 6 weeks, still unavailable as of this report. This vehicle falls within NHTSA Recall 25V-179 (LG high-voltage battery modules, fire risk when fully charged and parked). NHTSA's VIN lookup shows this VIN as having no unrepaired recalls, which I believe reflects only a prior software-monitoring update rather than a physical hardware fix — this diagnosed cell failure occurred after that update, is consistent with the exact failure mode described in the recall, and cannot currently be repaired because the remedy part is unavailable. Volvo Cars USA opened and then closed a corporate case (#[XXX], closed June 19, 2026) declining further assistance, stating its only obligation is to repair the vehicle — which it cannot presently do. It has been 138 days with no resolution on this matter. My name is [XXX] (father) and I can provide notarized authorization to act on my daughter's behalf on this matter. Thank you very much for your kind assistance. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

After a software update to the infotainment system (Android Automotive OS version 5.1.17, installed on 06/03/2026), my 2022 Volvo XC60 B5 intermittently loses all audio output. When the failure occurs, the vehicle produces no sound of any kind: no audible rear parking/proximity sensor warning while in reverse, no turn-signal indicator tones, and no media audio. The rear-view camera image still displays normally, so the loss of the audible backup warning is not obvious to the driver — the parking-assist system appears functional while its audible warnings are in fact disabled. On multiple occasions the failure was already present as I backed out of my garage and began driving, leaving me with no audible obstacle warning while reversing and no turn-signal tones while maneuvering. The display, navigation, and camera continue to function while audio is dead, which indicates the audio service stops responding rather than a hardware fault. The only way to restore audio is to fully restart (reboot) the infotainment head unit; the failure then recurs intermittently. The fault began immediately after the 5.1.17 update and was sporadic at first. After noticing a pattern, I documented occurrences on 06/15/2026, 06/17/2026, and 06/20/2026 with timestamped photographs, which are available on request. No crash or injury has occurred, but the loss of audible backup-warning tones while reversing is a safety hazard, particularly for pedestrians or obstacles behind the vehicle. I am not aware of a current recall covering this issue and am requesting investigation.

Re: Demand for repurchase or replacement under warranty — VIN [XXX] Vehicle: 2022 Volvo XC60 (pre‑certified) Purchase date: 08/19/2024 Dealer: [Dealer name, [XXX] ] Dear Volvo Cars USA Customer Care: I am the owner of the above-referenced vehicle. Since the date of purchase (08/19/2024) the vehicle’s infotainment system has repeatedly failed: it shuts down and reboots frequently (as often as 10 times within one hour of normal driving). Each shutdown disables navigation, HVAC controls and Bluetooth, and on reboot I must reset settings. This defect creates a significant safety hazard while driving, especially in unfamiliar areas. Since purchase I have returned the vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis and repair on multiple occasions. The vehicle has received software updates approximately 3–4 times, most recently on05//05/2026. The problem persists. I have retained copies of all repair orders and service records documenting these visits. (Copies attached.) This recurring failure remains unresolved despite multiple repair attempts and continues to present a SERIOUS safety risk. I received the the recall for the rear backup camera system not working now the whole cars safety system doesn't work. The infotainment screen keeps crashing and showing a dead android on it thus killing the Turn signal noise, climate controls, safety systems blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control randomly turns off, rear backup cameras still don't work. Overall this could lead to an accident as the whole cars safety system is not working and it makes me wonder if this could trigger the car to fail while driving if the operating system is malfunction or bad. I have tried to fix the issue with a factory reset but nothing seems to be working.

Case number 240821-000271 was opened on 8/21/24 with Volvo Car USA Support. I have three main concerns: 1) The infotainment system losing the favorites that I have saved in the Sirius application. This had been an intermittent problem that I had been having since I purchased the car. I finally took it into the service department at Volvo Cars of Gilbert on 1/7/23 for this problem (Invoice Number VOCS110975). The service department was unable to recreate the problem so they did nothing. 2)A complete car system reboot while I was driving on 6/10/24. As I was driving down the road the HVAC system shut off and the dash and infotainment system screens went blank. All car systems completely shut down except the engine. This was an extremely frightening experience as all of this happened with no warning whatsoever WHILE I WAS DRIVING. This is a huge safety issue! Within about a minute of driving like this the systems started to come back up. I proceeded home. The next morning I took the car to Volvo Cars of Gilbert again. They had the car for 5 days and performed a software update on the IHU (Infotainment Head Unit) (Invoice Number VOCS120164). 3)The failure of the infotainment system to update after starting the car and driving. This happened on 8/7/24 and I took the car directly to Volvo Cars of Gilbert again. The infotainment system was stuck on “Infotainment system starting…” for the entire 12-minute drive to Volvo. Volvo Cars of Gilbert had my car for 8 days this time and this time they did a reload to the existing IHU (Invoice Number VOCS121204). I asked that they replace the IHU. Volvo refused to replace the IHU because it was too expensive at $3200. Also, the problem of the infotainment system losing its radio favorites has become much worse. It happens daily now. I believe there is an opportunity for a catastrophic event to happen while I am driving if this IHU problem is not corrected immediately.

This Volvo XC60 B8 has a serious deficiency with the 12v system and main Battery where it discharges below 10v when the vehicle sits idol for more than a week. Every 7-10 day interval the vehicle must be jump-started and driven for 30 min to recharge the 12v system. The vehicle reports itself in limp-mode until the 12v system charges above 11v then switches to normal drive mode for the remainder of the 30 min drive. I installed a battery tender to the POS and NEG posts under the hood but it charges the mild hybrid battery to full then disables continued charging of the 12v system, leaving the 12v main battery under voltage and draining while the car sits idol. We have to drive the vehicle for 30 minutes every 4-5 days to keep the battery charged. Not even Audi or Lamborghini require this much attention to their 12v systems like this 2022 Volvo. This dis-charging issue happens in all types of weather, all year long, and under any parked condition (locked or unlocked) and the factory battery charger only works on the hybrid battery, not the 12v system battery. I have owned other hybrid vehicles that can sit idol for weeks or months at a stretch and will start without issue. While parked, my Camry XLE (Toyota Synergy system mechanically disconnects their traction battery and simultaneously engages the 12v system to keep the Vehicle "aware" via sensors) will sit for months until I return to drive it normally. Volvo dealerships accept this behavior as normal although my experience with hybrid vehicles implies the opposite. I have not been able to uncover any online research that describes my issue with any resolution from Volvo or successful 3rd party auxiliary internal or external charging systems. it has been researched by Volvo to be 'within normal operating parameters'.
