My airbag warning light keeps randomly coming on and off. My breaks are making a constant grinding and screeching noise that alternate on the driver and passenger side randomly and at times fail to break properly. The dealer has stated that nothing is wrong with my breaks or rotors

I was driving on the highway, when out of nowhere, the emergency brake assist was activated, causing the car to brake out of nowhere and almost causing a multi-vehicle collision. It was during rush hour, so luckily, due to traffic, I was only driving between 20-30mph. The car in front of me was at a safe distance and nothing passed in front that would have been a cause for the emergency brakes to be activated. This is extremely dangerous and could have resulted in a very bad multi-vehicle collision had the car behind me been just slightly closer. This is the second time that this has happened. The first time I was driving down a local street doing approximately 15mph, no rain, no debris in the road, and out of nowhere the emergency brake activated and brought me to a full stop. I’m very concerned now as I am often driving with my toddler in the car and this has now happened twice for no apparent reason.

Airbag Error keeps going off and flashing on the dashboard. Airbag sensor keeps chiming like a person is sitting in the front seat without using seatbelt when there is no one in the front seat and without anything on the seat that may weigh enough to set the sensor off. No active recalls are shown for the 2022 Atlas Cross Sport but there appears to be a similar recall with the 2018-2021 models.
I was coming to a red light and my 2022 vehicle shut off. A message popped up on the screen and said “please restart car”. This is very dangerous as I had to put my car in park and restart the vehicle in moving traffic.

I purchased my car in July 2022 and started having issues with it within 3 months. I’ve have my car at the dealer 4 times for them to look at… 1 - the brakes (grinding, scraping noise, squeaking that can be fetl in the pedal). I was told each time that the rotors and brake pads aren’t compatible. VW knows about the problem but doesn’t have a fix for it. They say they clean the pads and that the car is safe to drive (really?). 2 - the infotainment system. On several occasions I cannot switch from one media system (Sirius XM, FM, AM, blue tooth, etc…), when I turn my car on, the screen shows “initializing” but nothing happens. It just sits there. Today was a first; the whole system shut off and the screen was blank. No radio, no phone, nothing. I’ve made several videos to show the dealer what the system is doing and they tell me it just needs an update, yet I still have the problem. 3 - the front assist light comes on but doesn’t engage or when I am stopping it will engage so hard that it nearly stops my car on a dime (if I wasn’t wearing my seatbelt, I would have been on the floorboard). 4 - the remote start doesn’t work, from my fob or the app on my phone. The dealer was able to make it work once and said it was fixed. Hasn’t worked since. I only have 7,900 miles on my car and I just want it permanently fixed.

On January of 2022 we are pulling into the parking lot of a grocery store the car stalls out at about 5 mph. Volkswagen Autobahn says the door harness needs replaced assured us it was good to go. Almost 30 days later it stalls again at about 5mph pulling into our driveway. Volkswagen Autobahn informed us the door harness they put in 30 days ago was defective. My wife and I started to raise concerns. We asked what if this does it at a high rate of speed. We were told by Volkswagen Autobahn this issue usually happens at 5mph or less. Less than 15 days later we are on I 20 in Southwest Fort Worth the vehicle loses power at 75mph in the fast lane. I was able to coast over to exit and on ramp before it came to a complete stop. My wife and I sat in the vehicle with our seat belt on for two and a half hours until the tow truck came. Only one side of the emergency lights (driver side) were working. It made it seem like we were merging onto the highway. AAA roadside arrived they had to obtain permission to bring one of their other trucks onto the high as that area they deemed one of the most dangerous locations in Fort Worth. A flatbed truck would not work due to the e brake would not disengage to pull it on to the bed. The car was returned to us on 3/24/23 and were advised that a door harness and module in the door were replaced. I drove the car home from the dealer and it has been parked in the garage since then. Based on our past experience with this vehicle my wife and I not confident that the repairs completed resolved that issue and we no longer feel safe driving this car.

The brakes on this new car constantly grind and are extremely noisy. There have been a few occasions where they barely stopped the car before we hit another car. We have brought the car in for service several times and the dealer is unable to repair the vehicle. The service reps tell us this is a known problem with this car. Then they tell us they did not find any issues. they have claimed to have replaced the brakes but the issues still persist. Lots of owners of this vehicle have the same concerns or worse. This Atlas Cross Sport should not be allowed on California streets and highways. This really needs to be looked into
