THE FUEL TANK STARTED LEAKING FUEL AS I WAS RIDING THE BIKE. I DID NOT REALIZE IT UNTIL THE BACK TIRE SLID GOING AROUND A CORNER ON PERFECTLY DRY PAVEMENT. WHEN I STOPPED I NOTICED FUEL PUDDLING UNDERNEATH THE BIKE. I FINALLY TRACED THE LEAK DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FUEL PUMP MOUNTING FLANGE WHERE IT MOUNTS TO THE FUEL TANK. *…

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE ANTI-ROTATION STOP BOLT ON THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER MAY SHEAR ALLOWING THE CALIPER TO CONTACT THE SWING ARM.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: DAMAGE TO THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER AND SWING ARM COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH OR PERSONAL INJURY.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE STOP BOLT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TRIUMPH AT 678-854-2010.
