2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid

This is a follow-up complaint regarding my new 2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid. I am reporting a structural defect involving the vehicle floor and weld area. The issue is visible and affects the alignment and integrity of the floor structure. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Toyota dealer. The dealer declined to repair the defect and stated that the condition is “within factory specifications,” without providing any engineering documentation or safety justification. Due to the location of the defect (floor / weld / body structure), I have serious concerns regarding occupant safety and crash performance, especially in the event of a collision. This is a brand-new vehicle, and no accident or misuse has occurred. Toyota Motor Sales has not provided a satisfactory response or resolution. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue as a potential manufacturing and structural safety concern.

The rattling sound was coming from the second-row seat, and the seat was noticeably loose. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V668000 (Seats); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 6,542.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was contacted, the vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the vehicle remained with the dealer. The contact had been provided with a rental by the dealer while waiting the repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, and a case was opened. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Me, my wife & 4 small children were in the vehicle when it was struck - and none of the airbags deployed. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? My 2025 Toyota Sienna Limited is subject to NHTSA Safety Recall25V668 (Toyota Recall No. 25TA12 (Interim Notice 25TB12)) regarding improperly welded second-row seat rails. The recall notice, which was mailed on 11/21/2025 and received by me the first week of December, 2025, states that these welds may fail in a high-speed collision, preventing the seats from restraining occupants and increasing the risk of serious injury. Toyota interim safety instructions advise that second-row seats should not be occupied until repaired. Prior to receiving this notice in the mail from Toyota I was unaware of the defect. There were no service lights or notifications in the car's electronic panel. I have since learned that the notice was issued on 10/7/2025. My vehicle has been grounded at Conicelli Toyota Service Department in Conshohocken, PA since 12/22/2025 - It has been inspected for this defect and to date the service department manager does not have the parts to repair it and cannot give me an expected date for the part to be available and repairs performed. I purchased this vehicle in full on 3/6/2025. Since the recall was issued on 10/7/2025, I have contacted my Toyota dealer several times to inquire on an estimated date for repair of this safety issue. I have also filed a complaint /report with Toyota Brand Engagement Center. As of 1/29/2026, Toyota has failed to provide a definitive date for the repair or a timeline for the availability of replacement parts. I purchased this vehicle to safely transport my four grandchildren -ages, [XXX] , [XXX] , [XXX] and [XXX] to and from school/daycare every day. Because I cannot safely use the second-row seats, the vehicle is unusable for its primary purpose of transporting my family. The vehicle has been effectively "out of service" for safety reasons for more than 90 cumulative days. The contact also stated that the trunk failed to open using the fob key remote control or the interior trunk button. The contact needed to pull on the trunk door to open the trunk. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that an unknown part needed to be replaced, but the part was not available. The contact was also informed that the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

We received notice of our 2025 Toyota Sienna second-row seat rails suspect welds in early December via mailed letter from Toyota. The recall notice was posted on Toyota's website on October 7, 2025. We called our dealership on December 13, 2025 and received no information other than the remedy was not available. It is now the end of January and as far as we can find there is no remedy. Toyota explained that our second-row seats are mounted on seat rails that may have been improperly welded. They "recommend no one sit in or use a child restraint in the second-row seats while the vehicle is moving until the remedy is performed on the vehicle." This impacts our ability to use our car fully. We purchased this vehicle for its capacity and can't take full advantage of this perk.

NHTSA Recall No. 25V668 with report date 10/7/25 provided notice that 2nd row seats were deemed unsafe to use by Toyota. We bought this vehicle specifically to be able to use the 2nd and 3rd row seats for our family. Over 3 months later, Toyota still has not provided any update on when remedy will be available for this safety recall. When will they have the remedy available?

We were notified of a safety recall in mid December but they officially released the recall in early October. I have contacted Toyota multiple times with no update. Our dealer has not been able to provide a car with the same amount of seats as our Toyota Sienna. We have been limited to a 5 seat vehicle when we purchased a 7 row seat vehicle.
