BLOWN HEAD GASKET. WAS TOLD VIN NUMBER DOES NOT FALL IN RANGE FOR "CAMPAIGN" SSCV06 OR BEFORE THE 10/94 MANUFACTURED DATE (VEHICLE HAS 12/94 MANUFACTURED DATE). CAUSING OVERHEATING, COOLANT CONSUMPTION, ROUGH STARTING, AND EXPENSIVE DAMAGE/REPAIR.
THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME DEFECT STATED IN THE RECALL IN REFERENCE TO THE HEAD GASKET, BUT THE VIN NUMBER WAS NOT (UNABLE TO LOCATE RECALL NUMBER). TS COOLANT LEAKED FROM THE VEHICLE. SCC

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND EXPERIENCED ROUGH IDLING AND POOR PICKUP. TOOK INTO HAVE SERVICED AT AN INDEPENDANT SERVICE CENTER AND WAS TOLD I HAD A BLOWN HEAD GASKET, RESEARCHED ISSUE AND HAVE FOUND THE RECALL AND REPAIR CAMPAIGN FOR THIS VEHICLE. CONTACTED TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS VEHICLE HAD ALREADY HAD THE RECALL PERFORMED PRIOR TO MY OWNING THE VEHICLE. NOW I'M LOOKING AT A WEALTHY REPAIR BILL AND NO ASSISTANCE FROM TOYOTA ON THIS KNOWN ISSUE. DT
