WHERE THE METAL RING THAT THE SEAT BELT SLIDES THROUGH ATTACHES TO THE FRAME OF THE MOTOR HOME ABOVE THE PASSENGERS RIGHT SHOLDER AND THE DRIVERS LEFT SHOULDER THE MOUNT WAS ASSEMBLED WITH THE INCORRECT PARTS. THE STUD, SEAT BELT SLIDE, WASHER AND NYLON LOCKING NUT ARE INCOMPATIBLE AND THE NYLON LOCKING NUT WILL NOT SEAT ON THE THREADS OF THE STUD. THIS ALLOWED THE NUT TO LOOSEN FROM VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AFTER LESS THAN 4,OOO MILES AND THE BELT FELL FROM THE MOUNT. THE ISSUE IS THE OUTSIDE DIAMETER OF THE STUD MOUNTED TO THE WALL IS A LARGER OUTSIDE DIAMETER THAN THE INSIDE DIAMETER OF THE MOUNTING HOLE OF THE METAL SEAT SLIDER THAT GOES ONTO THE STUD. THIS MISMATCH OF DIAMETERS WILL NOT ALLOW THE WASHER AND NYLON LOCKING NUT TO SEAT PROPERLY. THE NYLON IN THE LOCKING NUT IS TWO THREADS AWAY FROM MAKING ANY CONTACT AT ALL WITH THE BOLT.
Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2009-2018 Allegro and Allegro RED, Bus and Phaeton vehicles, 2009-2010 Bay vehicles, 2011-2018 Breeze vehicles, and 2009-2015, and 2017-2018 Zephyr vehicles. These motorhomes are equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Tiffin will notify owners, and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on February 5, 2018. Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Allegro Phaeton and 2015-2016 Allegro Bus trucks manufactured October 1, 2014 to August 1, 2015, equipped with certain ZF RL77 / 80EM independent front steering axles equipped with Bosch 8018 steering boxes. The boxes were manufactured using incorrect internal spacers that can cause premature wear in the connection between the steering wheel and the front axle.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The steering wheel's connection to the front axle could fail resulting in a sudden loss of steering ability, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Tiffin will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the steering box if necessary, free of charge. Owners are urged not to drive their vehicles until they have been inspected. The recall began on August 17, 2016. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661.
