The contact rented a 2011 Thor Windsport RV. The contact stated while driving 71 mph, the RV lost motive power and electrical functions, and braking ability. The contact manually pulled the RV over to the side of the roadway and slowly stopped the RV while driving on the dirt pavement. The contact had to the RV towed to a local campsite that the contact and family were staying. The contact had an independent mechanic inspect the RV at the location. The mechanic spoke with the local dealer and was informed that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 13V265000 (Electrical System). The mechanic performed a temporary repair on the RV. The RV was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,100.
