WHILE RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE, SOMETIMES THERE IS SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED RAPID ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION WHICH CAUSES THE MOTORCYCLE TO BECOME UNSTABLE AND DANGEROUS TO RIDE. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS VERY OFTEN AND RANGES FROM MODERATE TO SEVERE. *TR

THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEMATIC ISSUE NOT ONLY FOR ME, BUT FOR OWNERS OF THIS MOTORCYCLE WORLDWIDE. I OWN A 2007 SUZUKI GSXR600. THERE IS NO "TECHNICAL TERM" FOR THE PROBLEM. WE CALL IT A "HERKY JERKY" PROBLEM. AT SLOW SPEEDS IN LOW GEARS THE THROTTLE IS VERY VERY ABRUPT. WHEN I ROLL OFF THE THROTTLE JUST BARELY, RAPID DECELERATION …

WHEN I ROLL OFF THE THROTTLE JUST BARELY, RAPID DECELERATION OCCURS. IT THROWS ME FORWARD. THEN WHEN I ROLL BACK ON THE THROTTLE EVER SO SLIGHTLY THE BIKE JERKS FORWARD, THERE'S NO IN BETWEEN. MAKES THE BIKE VERY DIFFICULT TO RIDE SMOOTHLY AT SLOW SPEEDS, THIS VERY UNSAFE AS IT MAKES THE MOTORCYCLE VERY UNSTABLE. THIS IS A VERY VERY COMMON PROBLEM AMONG THE OWNERS OF THIS MOTORCYCLE, ITS TIME SUZUKI DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT... *TR

INABILITY TO SMOOTHLY DECELERATE OR HOLD A NEUTRAL THROTTLE SETTING. INTERMITTENT, ABRUPT OPENING/CLOSING OF THE THROTTLE CAUSES RAPID ACCELERATION/DECELERATION. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SMOOTHLY ROLL OFF THE THROTTLE, THE MOTORCYCLE INITIALLY DOES NOT SLOW DOWN AT ALL, THEN ACTS AS IF THE THROTTLE WAS SLAMMED SHUT. ONCE A SMALL AMOUNT OF THROTTLE IS REAPPLIED, IT SNAPS BACK TO THE PREVIOUS THROTTLE SETTING. CREATES A JERKY, UNSTABLE CONDITION, ESPECIALLY WHEN CORNERING, OR ON SLIPPERY ROADS. CAUSED ME TO LOSE GRIP ON MY FRONT TIRE DURING CORNERING, AND I HAD TO RIDE STRAIGHT OFF THE OUTSIDE OF THE CORNER TO PREVENT CRASHING. *TR

13V449000 · Service Brakes

Oct 18, 2013

Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2004-2013 GSX-R600 and GSX-R750, and model year 2005-2013 GSX-R1000 motorcycles. In combination with older brake fluid, corrosion of the brake piston inside of the front brake master cylinder generates gas that may result in a reduction of fluid pressure transmission to the front brake.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: As a result, front braking power may be reduced increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front brake master cylinder, free of charge. The recall began on November 18, 2013. Owners may contact Suzuki at 1-800-572-1490. Suzuki's campaign numbers for this recall are: 2A (31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36).
