WHEN LETTING OFF THE CLUTCH IN FIRST GEAR FROM A DEAD STOP THERE IS A VIOLENT SHUDDER\JERKING REACTION MADE BY THE BIKE KIND OF LIKE THE BIKE IS IN THE WRONG GEAR WHEN STARTING OFF. WHEN CLUTCH LEVER IS PULLED BACK IN AND THEN SLOWLY RELEASED AGAIN ALL IS NORMAL. *TR

THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING TO THE FAILURE. THIS IS THE 2ND SUCH FAILURE I HAVE EXPERIENCED. WHEN APPROACHING A STOPLIGHT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC I WAS DOWNSHIFTING THE MOTORCYCLE USING THE ENGINE TO DECELERATE. THE CLUTCH CABLE SNAPPED WITHOUT WARNING WITH THE MOTORCYCLE STILL IN GEAR. I WAS ABLE TO LOCK US THE BRAKES AND KILL THE MOTOR BEFORE RUNNING INTO THE BACK OF A CAR. THIS IS THE 2ND CLUTCH CABLE ON THIS MOTORCYCLE THAT HAS FAILED IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS. AFTER THE FIRST OCCURRENCE I JUST THOUGHT MAYBE I HAD A BAD PART. I REPLACED IT AND DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING MORE ABOUT IT. THIS TIME I WAS A LITTLE MORE CONCERNED. UPON CLOSE INSPECTION OF THE CLUTCH LEVER WHERE THE CABLE IS INSERTED I NOTICED A BURR IN THE CASTING THAT MAY BE CAUSING THIS PROBLEM AND CAUSING THE CABLE TO WEAR. I FEEL THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND NEEDS INVESTIGATION BY SUZUKI IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS A VERY HEAVY AND POWERFUL MOTORCYCLE AND LOSS OF CONTROL WOULD POSE A VERY SERIOUS HAZARD TO OTHER VEHICLES AND THE RIDER. *TR
