The vehicle developed a turn-signal malfunction in which the turn signal would not operate/cancel properly. An authorized Ram dealership inspected the vehicle and diagnosed a failed Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) that required replacement. The part was backordered for approximately four months. I was later advised to contact another authorized Ram dealership that had the part available, and I scheduled an appointment specifically to have the previously diagnosed SCCM issue repaired. After that appointment, I was advised by the service department that the issue had been fixed. Because I am a truck driver and can be away for four to five months at a time, I later discovered that the same turn-signal problem was still occurring. I contacted the dealership and reported that the problem had not been corrected. I was subsequently told I would need to pay approximately $150 for another diagnostic evaluation, which I declined because the problem had already been diagnosed and I had been told it was repaired. During a recent visit to the same dealership for a separate recall, I asked another service advisor to review the prior service visit. I was informed that their records did not show that the SCCM had been replaced or that the previously diagnosed problem had actually been repaired, despite my having been told at the earlier visit that it was fixed. The turn-signal malfunction remains a safety concern because other motorists may not receive an accurate indication of my intention to turn or change lanes, increasing the risk of a collision. The vehicle and the condition are available for inspection. I have retained service documentation concerning the original diagnosis and subsequent dealership visits.

The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed on several occasions, the 12-Volt battery had low voltage which failed to provide enough power for the display screen, the fuel system, and other electric features. The contact stated that the failure caused the vehicle to shut off and not be able to drive. The contact stated that the vehicle was jumpstarted, and the vehicle started. The battery was replaced; however, the battery replacement failed to fix the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not yet diagnosed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 127,150.

All of these problems correct when I can get the truck restarted.

The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the seat belt, ABS, check engine, and other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the messages “Service Transmission – Continue in D – Do Not Shift or Turn off Engine until You Reach a Desired Location”, "Service Power Steering", "Service Parking Brake", "Park Sense Temporary Unavailable", "Service Transmission – Continue in D”, and “Do Not Turn off Engine”, “No Buss” were displayed. Additionally, the windshield wipers activated inadvertently. The contact stated that on one occasion, while in the middle of traffic, the vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and the contact attempted to turn off the vehicle by depressing the ON/OFF button, but the vehicle failed to turn off. After several attempts, the contact was able to turn off the vehicle. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle several times to reboot the vehicle. When the vehicle was restarted, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that there was an unknown issue with the wiring on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred 1 year and 7 months later. The vehicle was taken to another dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the CAN-C network was offline, the OCM was the module taking the bus down, circuit D13 was at 0.37 volts instead of 2.7 volts, and D14 had 0 volts, indicating a ground short. A connector was found in the wiring diagram closer to the OCM that should only have the OCM in it. D14 was rubbed through on the seat frame where it ran down from XY420A. While the technician was removing the wiring harness, the short to ground was no longer present. The rubbed section of the wire was cut out, and a new wire was installed, but the failure reoccurred within 24 hours. The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the engine seized. Additionally, the gear shifter independently shifted into park. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The failure had occurred while the contact was driving on a busy highway. The contact's wife, who was seated in the front passenger's seat, had since declined to ride in the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed power pack module. The contact was informed that the power pack module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that parts were ordered, and the parts were on back order. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.

It takes 1-3 times to engage vehicle to restart using the push start button. This happens with in 2-4 blocks of a cold start or even after 15 minutes or more of driving. This vehicle has been in the Dodge dealer several times with them not able to duplicate problem. This happens several times a month. Have been told by dealer it does NOT show a "code" for them to locate problem. When vehicle stalls it puts emergency brake on and alternator light comes on. After vehicle is re started you must pull over and turn vehicle off for few minutes to get alternator light to turn off. Volume of gas in tank seems to have NO bearing on when this vehicle stalls. This vehicle stalling happens more frequently when outside temperature is 50° and above. Happens more frequently with warmer temperatures

My 2023 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting both Uconnect 5 (12” screen) and earlier Uconnect 4 units. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. The primary defect is black-screen failures while driving. When the screen goes black or freezes, the truck loses all functions controlled through the display, including HVAC/defrost, backup camera, vehicle settings, seat controls, and performance gauges. This creates an immediate safety hazard: I cannot adjust climate/defrost, cannot see the required rear-view camera when shifting to reverse, and cannot access key vehicle information. Owners across multiple years consistently report: • Black screens, freezes, and reboots • Loss of HVAC control and dual-zone functions • Backup camera not displaying • Vehicle/Apps tabs failing to open • Uconnect error messages • Smaller, harder-to-read gauges after updates • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures • No option to decline or roll back OTA updates These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate controls that directly affect safe operation. The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion. My vehicle experiences the same issues, including the inability to properly use the various vehicle drive-modes as driving conditions dictate. Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2026 Ram 1500 vehicles. The second-row center and left-side seat belt buckle anchors may have been improperly installed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An improperly installed seat belt buckle anchor may fail to properly restrain occupants, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and attach the seat belt buckle anchor to the body structure as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 18, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 67D. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A driver's side air bag that does not deploy as intended increases the risk of injury in a crash.

The mirror glass may detach from the driver's side heated trailer tow rearview mirror. As such these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Detached mirror glass can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023 Ram 1500 Classic, Ram 3500 Classic, 3500 Cab Chassis, 2023-2024 Ram 2500, 4500/5500 Cab Chassis, and Ram 3500 vehicles. The steering column control module may cause the high beams to activate when the turn signal is used or activate the turn signal when the high beams are used. In addition, the turn signal self-canceling feature may not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023 Ram 1500 Classic, Ram 3500 Classic, 3500 Cab Chassis, 2023-2024 Ram 2500, 4500/5500 Cab Chassis, and Ram 3500 vehicles. The steering column control module may cause the high beams to activate when the turn signal is used or activate the turn signal when the high beams are used. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Ram 1500, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with GVWR less than 10,000 lbs., and 2022-2024 Ram 2500 vehicles. The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview camera that does not display an image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the radio software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 24, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 97A.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Wrangler, Gladiator, and 2022-2023 Ram 1500 vehicles equipped with a 3.0L diesel engine. The high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) may fail.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Fuel pump failure can result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the HPFP and replace additional fuel system components, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 17, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 01A.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Ram 1500 and 2023 Ram 2500 vehicles. The trailer reverse steering control module (TRSCM) may prevent the rearview image from displaying when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display while in reverse decreases the driver's visibility of the rear view, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the TRSCM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 1, 2023. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403.
