1. Engine stalled and complete loss of power at low speed/during acceleration at a stop sign, traffic signal, crossing, etc. 2. Engine stalled and complete loss of power at low speed (under 35 mph) during acceleration and/or deceleration. 3. I've noticed over the last several incidents that upon initial startup the engine did not feel or sound normal to the point I have been able to anticipate a stall. Engine will not idle properly, rough/jerky takeoff, delayed response when accelerating. Stalling only occurs once per driving episode. It has not stalled a second time following the initial stall. It appears the issue resets the engine?, electronics?, computer board?. 4. Incidents are very stressful. The number of times the stalling incident has taken place is between 15-20 times. I purchased the vehicle new with 35 miles. As of 7/2/24 I have 39,400 miles. The issue began about a year ago with approximate mileage of 26,000

I was slowing down for traffic at a stop light and when I was almost stopped traffic began moving again so I took my foot off the brake and pushed the gas pedal. The truck stalled, it shifted to park, the emergency brake came on and a red warning lamp for the battery came on. Traffic behind me had to stop abruptly to avoid hitting my vehicle. I immediately put my 4-way flashers on while trying to get the truck to restart. This was at 3:30 pm in very busy traffic on a 6 lane road on Feb 22 2024. I couldn’t get the truck to restart or move or do anything for over a minute. After a minute the truck allowed me to restart and drive home. The battery lamp stayed on the whole way home and the back-up camera stopped working when I parked. It has never had issues other than this one time. There were no warning lights on and no symptoms before this happened. It has not happened since, but I worry it could happen again with no warning.
A recall was announced over a year ago on the high pressure fuel pump but the manufacturer is still stating they do not have parts to repair. I am fearful of something happening while driving.

[XXX], While driving S on [XXX] , I felt a brief loss of power than a total engine shutdown. I was sandwiched between two semis but was able to locate a wide spot in the shoulder to signal and pull over, parking 9 feet off the fog line. The vehicle indicated a failure and would not restart. As it was a winter night, I was able to contact a relative to head our way and contacted AAA for a tow 5 miles to the nearest town, Chemult. My wife and I secured our vehicle in a safe place off the highway and were given a ride 72 miles to home. Ram Assist was unable to locate a tow company so I arranged and paid for the vehicle to be delivered to the nearest dealer in Klamath Falls, OR. After a week, the dealer confirmed a fuel system catastrophic shut down probably related to the high pressure fuel pump. Parts took 1.5 months to arrive and a repair was attempted March 29. April 1, I was informed the repair failed, the vehicle would not provide sufficient fuel pressure. New parts were ordered and attempted repairs continued to fail. As of May 8, 2024, the vehicle has not been successfully repaired. Replaced components are retained by the dealer at least until the repair is successful, then they will be sent to FCA. Vehicle started and ran well prior to the sudden failure. It was getting good mileage, was fueled with COSTCO diesel, and DEF tank was indicating full. I was advised of the HPFP recall and had requested the service in mid-December. Recall replacement parts were not available. Knowing of the recall, I had thought through what a failure would feel like so the correct action was taken immediately to get out of the way of the following Semi and coast to a safe distance off the highway lane. Thankfully, winter conditions had moderated so we kept warm enough (brand new winter coats purchased that day) and we were within cell coverage. The high pressure fuel pump failed while traveling at approximately 45 mph in the left lane on a public highway in snowy conditions. The truck lost all mechanical power and would not start upon multiple attempts. There were other motorists on the road who could have been endangered if I was not able to safely maneuver the truck to the shoulder. The truck was towed to Ken Garff Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in West Valley, UT where the service department confirmed that the high pressure fuel pump failed. The manufacturer "prioritized" ordering replacement parts, but is unable to provide an estimated time of arrival for several components necessary to complete the repair. No symptoms, warning lamps, or other indicators were evident prior to the mechanical failure. The fuel tank was 3/4 full with diesel fuel purchased in Utah (where the incident occurred), DEF was full, and the truck had routine scheduled service a week prior performed by a Ram dealership in Canoga Park, CA.
Auto engine accelerated while, pushing on break
Both RAM and dealership, after multple attempts, continue to give the same excuse that they don't have parts available. I have asked for a forecast of when this will become available and they have indicated they cannot at this time.

Dealers will not take it because they cannot resell it. The value it at auction price which has devalued my vehicle from the ~$81K sticker price to now they say I can buy a new vehicle (same) for ~$69k. They have literally stuck me in the corner without having remedy. Are they even working on it? The OEM's seemingly reluctance to act, in // with accelerating the devaluation of my vehicle, feels like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. Can NHTSA apply some pressure here on behalf of consumers everywhere? Also sorry but the email links in your website do not work so this was the only way I could find to get a message through. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An improperly installed seat belt buckle anchor may fail to properly restrain occupants, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Consequence: A rearview camera that does not display an image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE21-021 on October 14, 2021, to investigate incidents alleging a stall/loss of motive power as a result of high-pressure fuel pump failures in certain model year (MY) 2019-2020 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 heavy duty trucks equipped with 6.7L Cummins turbodiesel engines. During the investigation, ODI sought to determine if the related defect allegation was limited in scope to the recalled population. After review of information request response materials from both FCA and BMW, NHTSA determined that sufficient information to identify a comprehensive recall population could not be produced by FCA and BMW.During the investigation FCA filed recalls 22V406, 22E048, 22V767, and 22E087 which include vehicles not identified in the initial subject population by ODI. ODI also received recall 21V586, involving loss of motive power due to failed CP4 fuel pumps on certain BMW manufactured vehicles. An information request letter response received from BMW indicated that failed pumps on their vehicles were caused by an interaction between pump internal components and US market diesel fuel, leading to increased slip and eventual particle-generating wear surface.
