AT CERTAIN SPEEDS GAS CAP BACKS ITS WAY OUT OF THE TANK.THIS CAUSES THE GAS TO SPRAY ON DRIVER. TANKS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE, AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING. CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS VERY UNSAFE.*AK

THE MOTORCYCLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AT THE SPEED LIMIT, IN FAIRLY HEAVY BIG RIG (TRUCK) TRAFFIC WHEN THE FUEL PUMP DIED, I WAS ALMOST KILLED BY A NEAR MISS, PASSING BETWEEN TRUCKS AS MOTORCYCLE COASTED TO A STOP. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE, AS DOZENS OF MY FELLOW VICTORY MOTORCYCLE RIDING FRIENDS HAVE ALSO HAD SIMILAR FUEL PUMP FAILURES, ALSO WITH NEAR MISSES WITH OTHER VEHICLES. THE PUMP GAVE NO WARNING, IT JUST STOPPED WORKING. APPARENTLY THE DESIGNED IS KNOWN TO BE FLAWED, AS THE MANUFACTURER (POLARIS) HAS CHANGED THE PUMP TO A DIFERENT DESIGN FOR 2002 MODEL YEAR. I FEEL THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY ON A MOTORCYCLE. *AK
