WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE UP, A FIRE BROKE OUT IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. NO PRIOR PROBLEMS. *AK
WHILE TRYING TO START ENGINE, I HEARD A THUMPING NOISE UNDER HOOD. ENGINE WOULD NOT START. UNABLE TO OPEN HOOD TO INVESTIGATE. SMOKE BEGAN COMING FROM UNDER HOOD. CALLED FIRE DEPARTMENT. FLAMES AND HEAVY SMOKE WERE NOW COMING FROM UNDER HOOD. RESULT WAS A TOTAL LOSS.
INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL STALL, ALMOST RESULTING AN ACCIDENT. CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE DETAILS. *AK

A SPRING IN THE HEAD LAMP PORTION OF THE HEAD PARK LAMP SWITCH CAN FAIL PREVENTING LATCHING OF THE HEAD LAMP PORTION OF THE SWITCH IN THE "ON" POSITION.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: THE HEAD LAMPS WOULD NOT STAY ILLUMINATED RESULTING IN REDUCED DRIVER VISIBILITY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT HEAD/PARK LAMP SWITCH BUILD DATE CODES AND REPLACE SWITCHES WITH SUSPECT DATE CODES.
