I FILL MY GAS TANK, THE GAUGE FALLS TO THE BOTTOM AND THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT COMES ON. AFTER IT IS DRIVEN FOR A SHORT DISTANCE THE GAUGE WILL GRADUALLY MOVE TO THE TOP AND WORK AGAIN. THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT HAS REMAINED ON. *TR

I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN XTERRA. THE FUEL GAUGE READS 1/4 OF A TANK EVEN AFTER FILL UP. I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH, IT SEEMS THAT THIS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH A LOT OF LATER MODEL NISSANS. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS CAR TRANSPORTING OUR NEWBORN BABY TO AND FROM DAYCARE, DOCTORS APPT. ETC. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED IN THE FORM OF A RECALL BY NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA. FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILURE. GAS GAUGE DOES NOT SHOW RIGHT FUEL LEVEL , IT STAYS STUCK AT 1/4 TANK AND YOU THINK YOU HAVE ENOUGH GAS BUT YOU DON'T. ALMOST RAN OUT OF GAS ON HIGHWAY. DEALER IS REPLACING FUEL SENDING UNIT. *TR
AFTER FILLING MY TANK, MY GAS GAUGE LIGHT WAS STILL ON AND THE GAUGE STILL SHOWED EMPTY. SOON THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT CAME ON. IT WILL NOT RESET. THIS IS A COSTLY REPAIR AND IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT, SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS SAME PROBLEM. *TR
FUEL SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED AT 40,000 MILES ON 2007 NISSAN XTERRA CAUSING FUEL GAUGE TO MALFUNCTION AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. HAPPENS EACH TIME I REFUEL SINCE JULY. THIS PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD WITH MANY NISSAN PRODUCTS. NISSAN IS NOT BACKING IT IF YOU ARE PAST 36,000 MILES. *TR

I HAD 1/4 OF A TANK OF GAS AND DROVE TO WORK WITH INTENTIONS ON FILLING UP WHEN I GOT OFF OF WORK. AFTER GETTING OFF, I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND THE GAS LIGHT WAS ON AND THE GAUGE WAS BELOW THE E. I WENT TO DIRECTLY TO FILL UP. AFTER FILLING UP MY GAS TANK, I TURNED ON THE CAR, AT WHICH POINT THE NEEDLE DID NOT MOVE AND THE GAS LIGHT STAYED ON. AFTER DRIVING A COUPLE MILES, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE NOT GONE TO THE DEALER YET, BUT AFTER READING EVERYONE ELSE'S COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE, I THOUGHT I WOULD GO AHEAD AND START THE COMPLAINT PROCESS. I DON'T HAVE THE 400 TO 600 DOLLARS RIGHT NOW TO PAY ON AN ISSUE THAT NISSAN SHOULD HAVE CORRECTED YEARS AGO SO I WILL HAVE TO PRAY THAT I DO NOT RUN OUT OF GAS UNTIL I HAVE THE EXTRA MONEY TO REPAIR NISSAN'S PROBLEM. *TR

MY HUSBAND AND I OWN A 2007 NISSAN XTERRA FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS. ABOUT A MONTH AGO WHEN I WOULD SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THE LIGHT INDICATING THE AIRBAG WAS DEACTIVATED WOULD TURN ON. I AM 5' 3" AND WEIGHT 115 LBS. WE TOOK IT TO A KEN GARFF NISSAN IN SALT LAKE CITY. THEY DID AN AIRBAG SYSTEMS CHECK ON THE CAR AND SAID IT WAS WORKING FINE. WHEN I CALLED NISSAN MANUFACTURING TO SEE WHAT THE WEIGHT LIMIT WAS SET AT FOR THE COMPUTER TO DECIDE IF IT WAS A CHILD OR NOT, THEY COULD NOT GIVE ME AN ANSWER. THE LADY SAID SHE (OR THE TECHNICAL PERSON SHE CONTACTED) DID NOT KNOW THE WEIGHT. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT NISSAN WOULD SAY A CHILD WEIGHTS 115 LBS. I KNOW SOMETHING HAS TO BE WRONG IN THE SYSTEM ESPECIALLY SINCE THE CAR DID NOT DO THIS WHEN WE FIRST GOT IT. *TR
P0463 FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILURE AT 39002 MILES ON MY 2007 NISSAN XTERRA S. IT OCCURRED JUST PAST MY WARRANTY AND THE DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
