There are issues with the sensors. Specifically, the collision sensors. I have owned a 2022 Nissan Sentra for a few months now and multiple times have had the traction control malfunction warning, front collision sensor malfunction warning, and back collision sensor malfunction warning appear. In turn, this makes other safety features like the lane departure warning malfunction as well. This is a safety risk because first, the point of collision sensors is to minimize the risk of being in an accident. Second, if the sensors are corroding or have issues it can cause a fire or damage other aspects of the vehicle. I payed for multiple reports of the car. I assumed it was in an accident and the dealership did not disclose it. As the issue becomes more persistent it is clear that is what the car does. Malfunction.

On multiple occasions while driving, at traffic lights or stop signs, a light will come on the dashboard with a symbols including: Place the key near the start switch --even though the car is already on and running; and other times the car will not start at all with the key next to the start switch; Lower Tire Pressure - although the tires when check are not low at all; Low Fuel Gauge -although I would have just put gas in the car; A phone number from a person that I already hung up from as still an on-going telephone call; Forward collison sensor; Rear auto breaking symbol; ABS symbol, Car crash symbol, warning symbol and words; master warning symbol and words, system malfunction, I took the car two both Universal Nissan Dealership where I bought the car and Glendale Nissan Dealership after the lights came on - they always said, the dashboard lights do not come on when I leave my car with them---they cannot duplicate my concern, however they would ALWAYS clear out pass codes in the car computer systems, which indicates and verifies that the dashboard light was on and which symbol was displayed on the dashboard. No software update was ever offered to me, all things I complained about were consistently denied. Nothing was done to repair this electrical problem or glitch while my car was under warranty -prior to hitting 30,000;The drive car door will sometimes stick and will not open - i will have to exit on the passenger side. Universal Nissan Car dealership lied and said I has body work done on the car and they charged me for checking the door. However a few months later Glendale and CARFAX verified I had not EVER had any body work done to this car! Its cost me to miss work at uber (which is my main income!) for 45 days and have many anxiety attacks. I am paying for a car that is malfunctioning regularly (for nearly 2 years now from brand new at 8 miles -to 50,000), Nissan Headquarters will not repair, replace or buy it back. Nissan 2022 Sentra is a Scam!

Forward Collision AvoidanceSteering

The electronic steering control unit stops working while driving. This is dangerous and a known problem. The parts are on back order because all available supply in US is depleted. Also the front sensors for safety turn off in the rain.

While driving the car this morning at about 30 mph, and with no obstructions around, there was a sudden red flasher on the dashboard (a red long bar with a hazard triangle in the middle, three flashes) and I could feel ABS with the car applying emergency brakes automatically. My wife had told me that she also encountered the same problem about two months ago. At that time, we thought it could have been a one off. I bought this vehicle in April 2022. It has done only 1,800 miles. Today's incident was after the 6-monthly (first) service that was done yesterday. I have written to the dealership about this incident today. I am concerned the impact if emergency brake is activated for no reason when driving on the highway. Both my wife and I take turns using the car, and often travel with our two children.

I took the car to a nissan dealership on sep 16 2022 and inspected. they found out that there was a problem with the system and according to them it was fix. I just want to bring this to your attention because doing some research some nissan owners are having the same problem. In addition, I found out that none of the extended warranties dont cover any electrical system.

Jun 12, 2023

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2022 Sentra vehicles. The driver's side cowl area may have a missing or improper seal, which can allow water to leak inside the vehicle and corrode electrical components.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Corrosion of the electrical components could result in failure of various electrical systems, such as loss of wiper motor function or exterior lighting, inoperative air bags, or the ability to shift into gear without applying the brake pedal. Any of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash. In addition, an electrical short-circuit may occur, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, reseal the driver's side cowl. If moisture or corrosion is found, the main harness and engine room harness will be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 26, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669.
