*All dash screens have gone totally black with no info being displayed while driving at interstate highway speeds. Displays stayed totally black for about 10 minutes and the came back on. *Steering assist activated without any warning without cruise being turned on causing me problems when trying to change lanes. *With the cruise control not being selected, the vehicle suddenly started to accelerate until I applied the brakes and slowed the vehicle. *GPS not reliable. On a recent return trip, the system had us locked on a location we were at possibly 8 hours earlier. The GPS never updated as we came home driving thru West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, & finally New Jersey. *Radio constantly displays a message that no receivable stations are available when we select the AM or FM bands, but Satelite radion is available. Although the radio problems are not a safety issue, they are a nuisance when traveling and trying to listen to local stations for road and weather reports. *Recently occurring problem with the cargo door suddenly closing while we are loading/unloading the cargo area. *We have had the vehicle back to the dealership many times for these problems with no resolutions to these recurring problems. We had opened a case#[XXX] with Nissan North America, but it was closed back in mid March2025 when we thought the problems were resolved. The re-occurring problems caused us to open a new case#[XXX] with Nissan North America. We want Nissan to buy back or replace this vehicle since they cannot resolve the stated problems. Bought a 2022 Nissan Rouge on 9/2024 from Car Dealer. In November 2024, the car would not start. Jump start worked so we thought it might be battery related so bought a New Battery. AND Took it back to the dealer in the same month November 2024 as i was worried about the car shutting down in the middle of the highway and can't restart. DANGEROUS. The Car Dealer did an inspection(or so they said) and said no problems with the car but they would not give me a printout to confirm. Said that their printer and email was not working. Fast forward, May 2025, while DRIVING the car on [XXX] , it started shaking and shut off. . This time, it would not RESTART. Had it jump started several times but NOTHING worked. SO I Had to tow the 2022 Nissan Rouge from there to the Nissan Dealer Servicing (Springfield, NJ) THEN I found out about the recalls and about the electrical problems and with THE ROUGE NOT STARTING. AND As per Nissan Servicing center in Springfield, NJ, The engine is completely shot and needs to be replaced. Total cost $14000. AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT so i had it towed back to my driveway where it has been sitting BECAUSE THE SUV IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL and i do not have $14000 to pay for a new engine. I bought the Nissan Rouge for $18000 only 8 months ago and have only added $5000 miles since and have a active car loan. ALSO THE VEHICLE DID NOT GIVE ANY TYPE OF WARNING SIGNAL/MESSAGES/NOTIFICATION BEFORE SHUTTING DOWN COMPLETELY before shutting off. I have INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Battery had to be replaced during 1st oil change. Transmission failed at about 30,000 miles and was replaced. Transmission light went on again we were told it was the transmission it was the gear shift assembly (claiming something spilled in it - not true). Not covered and would cost $1350... charged $260 for diagnostic. Had repaired separately, Transmission light is still on. Claiming not covered under warranty even though car has about 80,000 highway miles. I think this car may have an undying electrical issue and our safety is at risk.

Ac compression / motor quit working. Yes is available forn inspection. 2.How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - I'm not sure if battery acids are considered to be airborne toxins but you could smell aulfer almost like rotten eggs everytime I turned on the ac and then it stopped working. 3.Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? - I could not say for sure if it has or has not been. 4.Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? - currently not yet just bought the vehicle. Have so save more money to be able to afford a diagnostic/inspection of the issue. 5.Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? - no their was not other then the smell started around June 8th 2025 and component quit working June 10th 2025.

Feb 16, 2023

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Rogue and 2017-2022 Rogue Sport vehicles equipped with a jackknife style ignition key. The jackknife key may collapse into a folded position while driving.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Driver contact with a key in the collapsed position could inadvertently shut off the vehicle while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, if the vehicle shuts off while driving, the air bags may not deploy in a crash as intended, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will insert a spacer into the key slot of the jackknife key, free of charge. Interim notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed March 29, 2023. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 30, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R22C5.
