The Specific Defect: My vehicle has two active federal safety recalls: NHTSA Campaign 26V080 (internal engine bearing failure causing a severe knock) and NHTSA Campaign 26V081 (electronic throttle body malfunction). The Dealer Violations: Nissan McDonough officially diagnosed the engine as faulty but refused to execute the free engine replacement under the campaign. Nissan South Morrow attempted to charge me retail out-of-pocket prices for the recalled throttle body, they did not replace it, they only conducted the OMC (?) The service manager explicitly refused the recall by claiming a code for a "throttle valve door" is not covered under the throttle body assembly campaign. Federal law explicitly mandates that when an active safety recall is present, manufacturers and their franchise dealers must complete the repair without charge and frame. I used my Rouge for my courier services and I am contract by two companies Aerospace and Airspace and I am in danger of losing my contacts. I have lost 10 days of wages thus far. Can you please assist me.

My 2022 Nissan Rogue 1.5L VC-Turbo is experiencing repeated limp-mode/reduced-power events, severe hesitation, poor acceleration, rough/shaking idle, and recurring DTC U0652 after Nissan marked recall 25V-437 complete. The vehicle is available for inspection. Reduced-power symptoms were documented as early as Dec. 2024 and significantly worsened by Oct. 3, 2025 at approximately 100,400 miles, including loss of power at highway speed. I previously reported this condition to NHTSA under Complaint #11696068. The first Nissan dealer (Willis) used a borescope, claimed “sludge,” recommended engine replacement, refused to provide supporting photos/evidence, and did not remove the oil pan. Willis later provided me an oil sample, which I submitted for independent analysis. That analysis showed multiple bearing-associated wear metals without an abnormal viscosity condition explaining the findings, and confirmed the oil pan was had not been checked. A second Nissan dealer was contacted to performed Nissan’s recall screening/software procedure. No engine light could be on upon arrival. Because the intermittent condition did not occur during the brief test, Nissan marked the recall complete. The warning light is now illuminated again and the vehicle is again entering limp mode/reduced power. I contacted Nissan for assistance and was told they would not provide towing or further recall assistance because the recall is listed as complete. I am currently stranded with the same safety condition after Nissan declared the vehicle remedied. My complaint is failed recall remedy/recall effectiveness. Nissan’s screening process classified this vehicle as remedied, but the safety condition continues and appears progressive. Nissan is now using its own “recall complete” status to refuse further action despite recurring loss of power and independent evidence of internal engine wear.

Sent to dealership, they had fixed the relay. Problem has since worsened. Car runs extremely rough and I get two malfunction errors. I am filing this complaint regarding Nissan's handling of an open safety recall involving my vehicle and the subsequent engine failure. Nissan issued Recall 26V080 concerning an engine-related defect that can cause engine oil breakdown, bearing damage/seizure, engine damage, and loss of motive power. My vehicle developed the red oil warning light, check-engine light, and reduced engine power before the engine failed. The vehicle also had dark oil and sludge in the engine. The dealership is now attributing the engine failure to alleged lack of maintenance and has denied the engine warranty claim. This is disputed. The vehicle received oil changes at an independent repair facility, and I provided Nissan with receipts documenting the maintenance. The dealership originally relied on the absence of Carfax entries to claim that the oil changes had not occurred. The dealership inspected the vehicle and submitted photographs and a physical sludge sample to Nissan's warranty department. I was told that Nissan's warranty department responded approximately three days later. No Nissan warranty technician or field representative physically inspected my vehicle before the determination was made. Nissan Consumer Affairs told me that the dealership's warranty department made the determination and that they would not disclose what information was submitted or what the sludge sample established. I dispute the conclusion that maintenance caused the engine failure. The presence of sludge does not, by itself, establish what caused the sludge. Nissan's own recall documentation identifies oil breakdown as part of the defect's failure mechanism. I have not been provided with evidence explaining how Nissan distinguished maintenance-related oil degradation from the recalled defect or how it ruled out the recalled defect as a cause or contributing factor. I was also told that the recall cannot be performed because my engine is no longer operational and that I would have to obtain another

Vehicle Information: 2020 Nissan Rogue Component: Structure/Doors Latch/Lock/Linkage Description of Incident: I am writing to report a serious safety defect regarding the front door lock actuators on my 2020 Nissan Rogue. Without warning, the front door lock actuator(s) completely failed, rendering the electronic locking and unlocking mechanism useless. This is a critical safety hazard. When the actuator fails, the door can become jammed and I cannot lock my front doors. In an emergency situation or a motor vehicle accident, first responders would not be able to open the doors from the outside, and occupants would be trapped inside due to this component failure. In safety situations I am unable to use the fob to unlock/lock the doors nor the buttons inside the car to lock/unlock. This is a well-documented and widespread issue with the 2014–2020 Nissan Rogue generation. Nissan is aware of this defect but has not issued a recall. I am requesting that the NHTSA launch an official safety investigation into Nissan's door latch and actuator assemblies before this defect results in a severe injury or fatal entrapment.
