At March 23rd, 2024, we have oil change on the car. The service sales came back to tell us that the front lower control arms' bushing is torn and needed repair immediately. Without repairing them, the wheels may disengage from the car. So we have them replaced, since losing the wheels during driving will cost our lives. This is for our safety. What can we do???!!! On conversation with the sales, he said this is a common phenomenon. Our problem on this is that, all the cars that we have owned, we never had the issue. This is the first time. Is this a common occurrence? We are not sure. And we simply can not understand why eight months ago during another oil change, this issue was not detected?! Could this be a faulty component installed on the car, we questioned? We also contacted Nissan consumer affairs. Their specialist insisted our car is out of warranty. There is nothing they can do. Is this a responsible car manufacturer's response? At least, they should look in the issue and gave us a satisfying answer, we believed. Anyway, please look into this. On the parts that were replaced, dealership has them. We don't have them in our hand.Sorry about this. All and all, please look into the issue. We just want other Rogue owners spared of the issue! Thank you for reading this and have a great day!

I was driving on the expressway when my car started shaking and a malfunction message came on. My steering then started to steer only to the left and the car would not allow me to control the steering any longer. I hit the median wall, did a 360 and was facing the opposite direction of traffic. The door initially would not unlock to let me out. I kept trying in a panic and all of a sudden they unlocked for me to get out. My car was totaled out by my insurance company.

On 12/17/2022 I was driving 45 mph down a straight road. Suddenly the vehicle swerved left into oncoming traffic (so I was face to face with another vehicle), then swerved right very hard and then left again. My car was its two left tires only for a few seconds during this time. After it swerved across the lane 3 times, I was able to control the steering wheel again. I just missed the car in the opposing lane and my car was also heading towards a telephone poll before I regained the ability to control the car again. During this incident my steering wheel was straight the whole time and did not control the vehicle. I did not hit the brakes or acceleration for fear of a rollover because it was swerving so hard. There were no warning lights on the dashboard during this time or after the incident. About 3 minutes before this incident occurred, my car did something similar and swerved hard to the right while the steering wheel was straight and I did not have control of the steering for a few seconds. Mechanics in the area were called and mentioned that it could be the steering motor that could be failing but were unable to look at the vehicle. I had a mechanic come to my house and he said he could not find a error code on my vehicle's system. The car has not been driven since the incident.

Vehicle is three years old. Never used the spare previously. Had a nail in the tire, so called Nissan Care to come and change it. Nissan Care arrived, used the spare that came with the vehicle and changed the tire. Immediately upon driving it, my wife heard weird noises, including grinding under her feet and grinding near the front right of the vehicle. Some knowledgeable car experts at her work told her she needs to get it checked out. She drove on it for less than 15 minutes before hearing a loud pop from the back, at which point the vehicle started smoking. She drove it to a nearby dealer. The dealer indicated the spare tire was not the same size as the others and because the vehicle has an intelligent all wheel drive system, this caused the rear differential to explode. INTERMITTENT ISSUE WHERE TURNING THE WHEEL QUICKLY, TYPICALLY WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT THROUGH A FULL ROTATION (PARKING OR TURNING DOWN DIFFERENT STREETS) THE WHEEL WILL LOCKED BOUNCE BACK THE OTHER WAY BEFORE BEING ABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL AGAIN. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED, THE ISSUE OCCURRED 2-3 TIMES IN SUCCESSION. I AM SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER TO HAVE THINGS CHECKED OUT. EVERY TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED THUS FAR, IT HAS BEEN AT LOW SPEEDS AND RECOVERABLE BUT THE CONCERN IS THAT IF THIS HAPPENED ON AN OFF RAMP OR ON RAMP ON THE HIGHWAY, IT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS.

I CALLED THE DEALER WHERE I HAD PURCHASED IT FROM, PERFORMANCE KIA IN MOOSIC, PA AND THEY CAN NOT GET ME IN FOR A WHOLE WEEK WHICH IS ALSO UNACCEPTABLE BECAUSE I HAVE TO DRIVE IT IN ORDER TO GET MY CHILDREN AROUND AND MYSELF TO WORK, THIS IS SCARY AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. I NOTICED PLENTY OF OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE AS WELL!

THE CAR WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO MOVE FROM SUCH A DRASTIC ACCIDENT AND YET IT WAS NOT ENOUGH FOR THE AIRBAGS TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO SAVE OUR LIVES. THERE WERE KIDS IN THE CAR! THANK THE HEAVENS WE WERE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WRECK ALIVE. ONE WHEEL WAS TURNED INWARD AS IT ATTEMPTED TO TURN WHILE THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL STAYED STRAIGHT. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE AND WE ARE ALL STILL SHAKEN UP BY THIS.

2PE19010 · False Automatic Emergency Braking
Opened Sep 9, 2019 · No close date supplied
Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking
NHTSA received a defect petition (DP19-001) from the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) on March 21, 2019 alleging that the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system on Model Year (MY) 2017-2018 Nissan Rogue and Rogue Sport vehicles was engaging in cases where there was no obstruction in the path of the vehicle. The CAS petition additionally alleges that, based on Nissan's actions, the manufacturer is aware of the issue due to issuing a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) launching two "Quality Actions," and initiating a "Customer Service Initiative" in relation to it. CAS contends that Nissan's actions do not represent an adequate long-term solution to the problem, as the action is only available during the basic coverage period of the warranty. CAS also argues that the alleged failures are an unreasonable risk to safety and views Nissan's communications as not acknowledging the potential safety issue involved, instead treating the alleged problem as a performance update. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) analyzed Vehicle Owner Questionnaire (VOQ) complaints received from consumers and identified a total of 129 unique subject vehicle reports (for all submission dates) alleging a false positive triggering of AEB. Of these complaints, three were identified that contained allegations of a collision resulting from the activation of the system, and all three indicating related injuries. In response to ODI's April 15, 2019 Information Request letter, Nissan provided data indicating that it has received 750 unique subject vehicle complaints relating to false positive activation of the AEB system. Of these complaints, 12 were identified that contained allegations of a collision resulting from the activation of the system. Four complaints contained allegations of injuries, three of which were the result of a collision. These complaints included duplicates of complaints that ODI received. The injury allegations were limited to soft tissue type injuries such as whiplash and bruising.Based on its review of the information identified to date, ODI has granted the petition and is opening this preliminary evaluation in order to evaluate the cause, scope and frequency of AEB false positive activations, as well as to evaluate the suitability of the manufacturer's campaign to address the concern or improve performance of the AEB system. The complaints cited can be viewed at NHTSA.gov under the following ODI identification numbers: 11230875, 11230481, 11230361, 11229400, 11229302, 11229294, 11228994, 11223074, 11222925, 11222644, 11220499, 11218713, 11218608, 11217157, 11210334, 11210256, 11210148, 11209127, 11209032, 11207333, 11205931, 11205717, 11205661, 11205172, 11205124, 11205027, 11204803, 11204349, 11204324, 11196805, 11196561, 11196466, 11196091, 11195938, 11195574, 11194380, 11193989, 11192761, 11192283, 11192063, 11190855, 11190840, 11189976, 11187374, 11186903, 11185890, 11185883, 11185132, 11183406, 11180813, 11174713, 11173666, 11173302, 11172299, 11171331, 11170989, 11165434, 11164646, 11162898, 11162502, 11162396, 11161413, 11161230, 11155985, 11155209, 11155181, 11154181, 11153607, 11153334, 11151373, 11151028, 11142595, 11142557, 11142386, 11141775, 11141433, 11141387, 11141347, 11140604, 11139711, 11139226, 11133402, 11132376, 11130998, 11130662, 11129949, 11128704, 11124099, 11123564, 11123353, 11123321, 11122783, 11119475, 11119300, 11118604, 11115088, 11113479, 11113371, 11112371, 11111659, 11111057, 11110919, 11110689, 11104075, 11103844, 11103437, 11102715, 11102333, 11100117, 11099313, 11091006, 11089960, 11089798, 11089533, 11088815, 11088718, 11081072, 11079453, 11073644, 11072718, 11065505, 11061598, 11057739, 11056061, 11055766, 11048349, 11035301, 11033225, and 10972343.
