I've ask dealership several times and last time they finally checked and said that something to do wiring and that if I had a crash that either airbags will deploy. And that it will cost me almost 3000.00 to fix. Is this something that is part of a recall that can be fixed? Without me paying for? That requires alot of money out of my pocket that I don't have. Thanks

Liftgate malfunction. Liftgate of vehicle was found open when entering our garage despite previous night it being utilized and closed. I pressed the button on the liftgate to close the liftgate and both my husband and I witnessed it closing and heard the usual "click" sound that liftgate had closed completely. We entered the vehicle, and my husband started the vehicle. As he was slowly moving forward out of the garage, we suddenly heard beeping and the liftgate was opening without warning, hitting the top of the garage, causing the rear glass in the liftgate to shatter and damage to the rear wiper and liftgate paint. The plastic inner cover came off also. My husband moved the car to the street to clean out the class from the back, closed the liftgate and a few minutes later it rose again automatically without warning. When we brought the vehicle in for repair we mentioned what had occurred and asked that it be checked for accurate operation.

The car went into a skid which it shouldn’t have. right in front of my car this roadway is like a highway. The car went into a skid which it should know with the antilock brake system, and upon contact the airbags did that a ploy deploy And upon contact airbags, didn’t deploy my wife, and I have to – my knees hit the dashboard. The person that caused the accident his company with State Farm and they put me at 15% liability which is totally wrong. I was sick at the time when they were going over the money they took thousands of dollars from me now my car is destroyed. They paid me to fix it, which doesn’t even cover the cost of the repairs. The car would have not gotten into the accident if it didn’t skid I would have been able to stop. I need Nissan to do something either replace this car or repair it because the accident should not have occurred. Airbags did not deploy and we got hurt. I’m not looking a lawsuit nothing like that. I want my car just fixed or replaced and the car does have recalls for electrical and other problems

Recall for water potentially leaking into drivers side dash harness connector…which could cause battery discharge and thermal damage to connector (along with other possible problems). About two weeks prior to receiving the recall letter…my Rogue started having major battery issues - such as, thick blue corrosion on and around both terminals, all down the cables/wiring, and circuit board attached. Got the alternator checked, bought a new battery, and still…same problems. It hasn’t been reliable enough to drive. The day I call to make an appointment at the Nissan Dealership, I received the letter of the recall (1/23/23). The letter states to call and make an appointment to get it fixed ASAP. After finally talking to someone who had little knowledge on the recall AND couldn’t even tell me what the part is or where it was. I was then informed that they do not have the parts to fix it because Nissan doesn’t have them available yet….and to call back in a couple weeks cause they had no knowledge when parts would even be available! After telling him my issues, he informs me that Nissan recommends not to drive it whatsoever and to unhook my battery completely…due to major fire potential. I live 25 minutes from town, out in the country with my 84 year old grandmother…with NO other vehicle options available. The dealership doesn’t offer any sort of rental car service and didn’t seem to care or even offer any other options. I have a job and a grandmother I look after. I’m not one to complain, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the fact, the problems my car is experiencing, fall under this recall is VERY nerve racking to know I was at risk of my car catching on fire while driving it or even having my battery hooked up while it’s parked!

In order to adjust the driver seat excessive force was required and was able to be adjusted after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the unknown repair was performed however the driver seat was still not able to be adjusted up or down. The contact then stated that while their husband was driving approximately 60 - 70 mph, the instrument panel suddenly glitched and the vehicle failed to accelerate. It seemed like the vehicle was coasting only. The center computer began turning off and on. The vehicle self-corrected. Next, the front passenger side window failed to move up and down till the driver side window had been moved first. Later that same day, while their husband was driving (mileage unknown) the vehicle suddenly shut completely off. The driver waited a few minutes and was able to drive the vehicle back home where they parked the vehicle. After being parked for approximately an hour the contact was informed by the police that the vehicle had caught on fire and was extinguished by the fire department. A police report was filed. There were no injuries, no medical attention was needed and there was no damage. The vehicle had been towed to the insurance company to be evaluated. The vehicle was deemed totaled. PE19010 · False Automatic Emergency Braking

Opened Sep 9, 2019 · No close date supplied

Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking

NHTSA received a defect petition (DP19-001) from the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) on March 21, 2019 alleging that the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system on Model Year (MY) 2017-2018 Nissan Rogue and Rogue Sport vehicles was engaging in cases where there was no obstruction in the path of the vehicle. The CAS petition additionally alleges that, based on Nissan's actions, the manufacturer is aware of the issue due to issuing a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) launching two "Quality Actions," and initiating a "Customer Service Initiative" in relation to it. CAS contends that Nissan's actions do not represent an adequate long-term solution to the problem, as the action is only available during the basic coverage period of the warranty. CAS also argues that the alleged failures are an unreasonable risk to safety and views Nissan's communications as not acknowledging the potential safety issue involved, instead treating the alleged problem as a performance update. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) analyzed Vehicle Owner Questionnaire (VOQ) complaints received from consumers and identified a total of 129 unique subject vehicle reports (for all submission dates) alleging a false positive triggering of AEB. Of these complaints, three were identified that contained allegations of a collision resulting from the activation of the system, and all three indicating related injuries. In response to ODI's April 15, 2019 Information Request letter, Nissan provided data indicating that it has received 750 unique subject vehicle complaints relating to false positive activation of the AEB system. Of these complaints, 12 were identified that contained allegations of a collision resulting from the activation of the system. Four complaints contained allegations of injuries, three of which were the result of a collision. These complaints included duplicates of complaints that ODI received. The injury allegations were limited to soft tissue type injuries such as whiplash and bruising.Based on its review of the information identified to date, ODI has granted the petition and is opening this preliminary evaluation in order to evaluate the cause, scope and frequency of AEB false positive activations, as well as to evaluate the suitability of the manufacturer's campaign to address the concern or improve performance of the AEB system. The complaints cited can be viewed at NHTSA.gov under the following ODI identification numbers: 11230875, 11230481, 11230361, 11229400, 11229302, 11229294, 11228994, 11223074, 11222925, 11222644, 11220499, 11218713, 11218608, 11217157, 11210334, 11210256, 11210148, 11209127, 11209032, 11207333, 11205931, 11205717, 11205661, 11205172, 11205124, 11205027, 11204803, 11204349, 11204324, 11196805, 11196561, 11196466, 11196091, 11195938, 11195574, 11194380, 11193989, 11192761, 11192283, 11192063, 11190855, 11190840, 11189976, 11187374, 11186903, 11185890, 11185883, 11185132, 11183406, 11180813, 11174713, 11173666, 11173302, 11172299, 11171331, 11170989, 11165434, 11164646, 11162898, 11162502, 11162396, 11161413, 11161230, 11155985, 11155209, 11155181, 11154181, 11153607, 11153334, 11151373, 11151028, 11142595, 11142557, 11142386, 11141775, 11141433, 11141387, 11141347, 11140604, 11139711, 11139226, 11133402, 11132376, 11130998, 11130662, 11129949, 11128704, 11124099, 11123564, 11123353, 11123321, 11122783, 11119475, 11119300, 11118604, 11115088, 11113479, 11113371, 11112371, 11111659, 11111057, 11110919, 11110689, 11104075, 11103844, 11103437, 11102715, 11102333, 11100117, 11099313, 11091006, 11089960, 11089798, 11089533, 11088815, 11088718, 11081072, 11079453, 11073644, 11072718, 11065505, 11061598, 11057739, 11056061, 11055766, 11048349, 11035301, 11033225, and 10972343.
