The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while driving 76 MPH with the Adaptive Cruise Control feature activated, the contact attempted to pass a semi-truck; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The contact stated that the vehicle fishtailed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed. The contact stated that the dealer advised the contact that the failure was not a known failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Nissan Frontier vehicles. The right-side headlight assemblies may have missing or illegible headlight aim markings, which can result in improperly aimed headlights. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Improperly aimed headlights can result in insufficient illumination of the road, decreasing the driver's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the right-side headlight as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 20, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PD121.

Due to a manufacturing issue, the driver's air bag inflator may absorb moisture, and cause the air bag to deploy improperly.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An air bag that deploys improperly may not protect the driver as intended during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
