I fear the hood flying off and causing an accident or fatality. Upon purchasing a BRAND new 2022 vehicle you expect the vehicle to be in great shape with no cosmetic issues nor issues under the hood well that wasn’t the case for me. I test drove the vehicle locally and it was fine. After a couple weeks I needed to drive on I95 and when I got up close to 60MPH THE HOOD STARTED FLUTTERING LIKE IT WAS ABOUT TO BLOW OFF! I was freaking out and swerved because I was watching the hood praying f it wouldn’t fly off! My kids were in the vehicle with me as well. I called and spoke with Mitsubishi and they offered a temporary sealant that “could” stop the fluttering. It didn’t! I contacted them immediately and informed them this has to be replaced or fixed correctly! I’ve been going back and forth with the dealer and WellsFargo to cancel the loan and get my money back! The dealer told me several times since 2021 November that the manufacturer should have a new hood within one month and it’s about to February and it still isn’t fixed! I was told that reversing the contract and getting my money back is out of the question and they will have a new hood by February. I’ve been an emotional wreck! I am a single mom of 3 and got out of one disabled vehicle just to get into a lemon and be low balled by the dealer giving me the run around and won’t refund my money for an error of what NEED to be a RECALL on the 2022 Outlander hoods! Several people have this issue and I’ve posted it on my social media as well! I’ve been told by the dealer the hood won’t blow off and I informed them they cannot guarantee me that especially since they didn’t make it the manufacturer’s did! I pray for my safety and the safety of others but I am ready to sue Mitsubishi for this Lemon they sold me knowing it had a hood flutter issue! I have documentation of every person time and conversation as well as voicemails left please help me!

I purchased this vehicle on 12/24/2021. After purchasing and driving off the lot, I noticed a significant amount of hood fluttering. Irrespective of the speed , the flutter is significant and a distraction and can affect one driving safely.
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (Mitsubishi) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Outlander and 2023-2025 Outlander PHEV vehicles. Due to a software error in the in-vehicle infotainment system (A-IVI), the rearview camera image may freeze, or not appear on the display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display properly reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the A-IVI software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 30, 2025. Mitsubishi's number for this recall is SR-25-001. This recall replaces and expands previous NHTSA recall number 23V345. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 23V345 will need to have the new remedy completed.
