2022 Mitsubishi Outlander

The contact owns a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the vehicle failed to exceed 10 MPH. The battery warning light illuminated, and the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle operated as needed. The contact was able to drive to his destination; however, the vehicle later failed to restart. The vehicle was jumpstarted and taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed but no issues were found; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the battery was replaced; however, upon replacing the battery, the vehicle remained in LIMP Mode with the Forward Collision Avoidance system being inoperable. Additionally, several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a tech support was assigned to provide remote assistance to the dealer in diagnosing the vehicle; however, the tech support was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle had been at the dealer for 71 consecutive days. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,249.

The passenger side mirror will not tilt down when in reverse. The side orange button is on reflecting the right passenger mirror is selected when in reverse but still does not tilt down. The back up camera is also blacking out after the recall for such. I was not experiencing issues with the back up camera before the recall.

The contact's wife engaged the electronic parking brake but the vehicle continued rolling onto a two-lane highway. The contact's wife turned off and restarted the vehicle. The contact's wife then veered to the side of the road. The contact 's wife was able to continue driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing electrical failures. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance chime would engage and the message "Crash Detection" would display erroneously while driving. The contact also stated that the hood of the vehicle would slightly open while driving. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

The contact stated while driving at various speeds, with a vehicle approaching from the rear, the rear collision alert sensor and warning chime would only flash for a second at a very low sound level. The contact stated that the rear collision alert also did not chime very loudly while reversing the vehicle and approaching an obstacle. The contact stated that the warning chime was too faint and too short for alerting him. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and found that there was no failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
