The contact owns a 2024 Mercedes-Benz E Sprinter. The contact stated that while driving at 10 MPH, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the passenger’s side of the vehicle. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over to the right side of the road and turned off the vehicle for an hour. The vehicle was then restarted and worked as intended; however, after the vehicle was parked in a public parking lot, several undisclosed electrical failures occurred. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and it was determined that the A-frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000.

Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vehicles. The welds on the helical gear within the rear axle drivetrain may fail, causing a loss of drive power.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. In addition, drivetrain failure can result in a vehicle rollaway if the parking brake is not applied, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the rear axle electric drivetrain, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 5, 2025. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 877-762-8267. DVUSA's number for this recall is V3ESCHWEI.

Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vehicles. Due to a software error in the electronic stability program (ESP), the force required to stop the vehicle may increase, possibly requiring an extended distance to stop.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Extended stopping distance can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the ESP control unit software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 3, 2024. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267. DVUSA's number for this recall is VS3EBOOSTF.
