2023 MERCEDES-BENZ Eqb 350 4MATIC

The contact owns a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB-Class. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V487000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. 

My 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB has an unresolved recall (25V487000) issued July 25, 2025 — nearly 10 months ago — with status still listed as remedy not yet available. The recall is classified as URGENT: FIRE RISK WHEN PARKED on NHTSA's website for my specific vehicle. On May 6-7, 2026 I contacted Mercedes customer service three times and received conflicting safety guidance. Agent 1 told me charging above 80% was acceptable and did not advise outdoor parking. Agent 2 (appointed by a manager) told me to restrict charging and park outside immediately, and escalated to buyback team. Agent 3 called back and said Agent 2 made a mistake and that no restrictions apply. My only available parking is an enclosed residential garage. I have a newborn due any day. Mercedes has failed to provide consistent written safety guidance despite an active federal fire risk classification on my vehicle. I have sent written correspondence to Mercedes Financial Services requesting clarification.

“My 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 is subject to NHTSA recall 26V073 involving a high-voltage battery defect that may cause a fire. The manufacturer has instructed me to limit charging to 80% and to park the vehicle outside due to fire risk. This significantly reduces the vehicle’s usable range and creates safety concerns. Due to this 80% charging limitation, the vehicle no longer provides sufficient range for my daily commute and cannot be reliably used for its intended purpose. The manufacturer has stated that the permanent remedy (battery replacement) is not yet available, with an estimated timeline extending into December 2026. I opened a case with Mercedes-Benz on April 3, 2026 (Case #[XXX]), and as of today no case manager has been assigned despite multiple follow-ups. As a result, I am operating a vehicle with a known safety defect that cannot be repaired and cannot be used as intended. I am reporting a substantial safety defect regarding the high-voltage battery system in my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 350. The vehicle suffers from a 50% loss of advertised range (real-world range of ~95 miles vs. 210 miles advertised) and severe DC fast-charging failures. My VIN is subject to NHTSA Recalls 25V050000 and 25V894 for high-voltage battery fire risk. Per the manufacturer's safety instructions, I have been told not to charge the vehicle above 80%, which further degrades the vehicle’s utility. Additionally, the vehicle is subject to Recall 25V487000 for sudden loss of drive power. Mercedes-Benz has failed to provide a permanent remedy that restores the vehicle's safe operating performance. The combination of fire risk, restricted charging capacity, and unpredictable power loss makes this vehicle unsafe for road use. The manufacturer has formally refused a repurchase despite these documented federal safety violations.

This safety recall is over six months old and is still unresolved. I have not felt safe driving the vehicle on the highway because of the possibility of complete power loss. I have been forced to keep paying lease payments on a car I can't drive and the manufacturer has been unresponsive. When I plug the car in to charge, all the lights in the house dim. My other EV does not do this so it must be a serious problem with this vehicle.

Dear Sir or Madam, Good day. I purchased a New 2023 Mercedes EQB [XXX] from a Dealership in Florida less than 2 years ago. This VIN is associated with NHTSA Recall 2025020001 25V050 Electrical System Battery Fire Risk dated February 3rd 2025. This recall is due to multiple cars spontaneously catching on fire. No cause has been identified or ruled out. Vehicle was previously serviced multiple times for Charging related issues. I spoke to the Dealership about this recall informally. They recommended against charging the car indoors. They said the part for the Recall was not yet available. While the Manufacturer recommends limiting charging in anticipation of a Remedy, no Remedy is available. They plan on providing a software patch, this could very well could be a hardware issue requiring hardware replacement. Having a recall with No Remedy for months puts this car out-of-service. Having a recall with No Remedy for months is a nonconformity. Only being able to charge to 80% is a nonconformity. Car has been out of service for months. The risk is simply too great to charge the car, store the car inside my home, or drive the car. I reached out to the Manufacturer under the Florida Lemon Law (attached) as this has exceeded a reasonable amount of time for a critical life safety repair. Thank you.
