On June 16, 2024, while driving my 2022 Mercedes E 350 with my two young children in the car, my sunroof suddenly and literally exploded. Fortunately, the sunroof screen was closed, which prevented us from sustaining any direct injuries. However, the entire sunroof shattered and is now gone. The explosion sounded like a gunshot, causing immediate and extreme distress. My body began shaking uncontrollably from the shock and fear of the incident. This unexpected event posed a severe safety hazard, and I am deeply concerned about the potential risks to other drivers with similar vehicles. **Vehicle Information:** - Make: Mercedes-Benz - Model: E 350 - Year: 2022 - Mileage: 87,000 miles **Incident Information:** - Date of Incident: June 16, 2024 - Description of Incident: Sunroof explosion while driving with children in the car. My vehicle suddenly stopped in the middle of road. It showed gas tank empty though tank had half tank gas. i would have been hit by a vehicle behind me. Fortunately, there were no vehicles behind me. i filled the remaining half tank , then car started again. I believe that gas sensor was not working. I dropped the vehicle for service to the mercedes benz dealerwith full tank of gas. It was showing empty gas tank and i can drive zero miles. Dealer told me after 3 days that gas tank needs to be replaced. My concern is that , manufacturer might have made a defective gas sensor or gas tank. This may lead for deaths. It may need a recall , if you have received similar complaints. I contacted the dealer who sold the vehicle by email. I didn't get any response. The panoramic sunroof exploded while inside the car without warning. Contacted the dealership/service center on Friday 9/15/2023, was told they have not received a memo regarding the panoramic sunroofs in the 2022 E350, however; this is a know problem. I was told that this is not covered of my warranty because they assume something had to hit the glass, provided evidence via my security camera that not fell and hit the glass. Even after this happened the warning system did not even go off to indicate there was a problem.
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2024 GLE, GLS, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, SL, GLC, CLS, AMG GT, and G-Class vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific vehicle details. The fuel pump may shutdown, causing a loss of drive power.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 28, 2024. Owner notification letters will be mailed in phases, on February 23, 2024, April 19, 2024, June 28, 2024, August 9, 2024, October 1, 2024, and December 2, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall number 23V-445.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, SL, EClass Coupe/Convertible, CLS, AMG GT 4-doors Coupe, and EQS vehicles with a heated leather steering wheel. Due to a software error in the hand detection control unit, the hands-off detection might not detect when the driver's hands are away from the steering wheel when using the Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC system.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Deactivated hands-off detection will prevent DISTRONIC system features from functioning, including warnings to grab the steering wheel and calling first responders as part of the Active Emergency Stop Assist, which can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will update the hand detection control unit software for the DISTRONIC system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 6, 2022. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2022040010.
