When starting vehicle, center screen of vehicle was completely off and dark. Upon starting my vehicle today the center screen did not power on. The vehicle displayed several messages indicating various safety features were unavailable, including blind spot assist, lane keeping assist, parking assist, etc. Additionally, the exterior cameras (e.g., reverse camera) were inoperable as well. Since the center screen controls the sound system and climate control system, those systems were also unavailable. I restarted the car several times but the screen remained off. I purchased this car in August 2022 and have driven it approx. 3,600 miles - this is the second time this issue has occurred. The first time happened in Sept 2022 and it resolved by itself the following day. However, I believe this problem presents a safety concern since most, if not all, of the vehicle's various safety systems are disabled when it occurs.

There have been two complete failures of the control module /screen in the center dash of the vehicle which operates all vehicle features and some key safety features. The screen simply ceases operation and shuts down all controls for the vehicle. The first incident occurred shortly after purchasing the vehicle new in June 2022 and then again on 8/7/22
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2020-2021 CLA, 2019-2022 A-Class, 2022-2023 C-Class, 2024 CLE, 2020-2026 GLA/GLB, and 2023-2024 GLC vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific model information. The micro-switch in the driver's door lock may corrode and fail to detect an open door, preventing the electronic parking brake or "Auto-Park" feature from engaging automatically. This may result in a vehicle rollaway.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver's door lock, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 18, 2026. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loose seat belt may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Consequence: An electrical short circuit in the SAM could lead to various malfunctions, such as rear exterior lighting failure, unintentional rear seat folding, and rearview camera failure, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. In addition, an electrical short circuit might increase the risk of a fire.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, SL, EClass Coupe/Convertible, CLS, AMG GT 4-doors Coupe, and EQS vehicles with a heated leather steering wheel. Due to a software error in the hand detection control unit, the hands-off detection might not detect when the driver's hands are away from the steering wheel when using the Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC system.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Deactivated hands-off detection will prevent DISTRONIC system features from functioning, including warnings to grab the steering wheel and calling first responders as part of the Active Emergency Stop Assist, which can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
