WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY AT APPROX 65 MPH I HAD A BLOWOUT. THE TIRE TREAD WAS SHREDDED AND SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE, JUST AS IN THE SUV TIRES THAT ARE BEING RECALLED BY FIRESTONE. I BROUGHT THE TIRE TO A FIRESTONE/BRIDGESTONE DEALER FOR REPLACEMENT AND THEY DETERMINED THAT THE TIRE WAS NOT DEFECTIVE. THEY SAID I HAD PROBABLY RUN OVER A NAIL OR PIECE OF GLASS. I HAVE NEVER BEFORE SEEN A PUNCTURE CAUSE A TIRE TO SHRED THE WAY THIS ONE DID. IN LIGHT OF THE CURRENT FIRESTONE RECALL, I URGE YOU TO FORCE FIRESTONE/BRIDGESTONE TO EXPAND THE INVESTIGATION AND SCOPE OF THIS RECALL. IF POSSIBLE AND WARRANTED, I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY TIRES REPLACED. AT THE VERY LEAST. THERE IS AN EXTENSIVE VIBRATION ON HIGH SPEEDS (50 - 75 MPH). ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE TWICE AT THE TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS. I REQUESTED WHEEL BALANCE AND ALIGNMENT DONE, BUT UNFORTUNATELY NOTHING HELPED. *AK

THE CAR MADE A HUMMING NOISE AND THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD INTO THE INTERSECTION. MY FOOT NEVER LEFT THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS HAS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN. THE CAR HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 4 DIFFERENT OCASSIONS AND THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. NO ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES HAVE RESULTED.
