2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

The car experienced a complete electrical failure. Exactly like the recall D126 warns about. This engineering fix is taking too long. They should simply replace the DC/DC converter. I was stuck in the middle of the intersection and had to have my car towed, battery replaced. They are slow playing this problem to avoid having to pay for repairs.

The vehicle was repaired, but the check engine warning light illuminated approximately 20 minutes after restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact believed that the failure was associated with damages from the original failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

Vehicle: 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE While driving approximately 65-70 mph, a red battery/charging warning appeared instructing me to pull over immediately. Within approximately 3-5 minutes, the vehicle rapidly lost electrical power and became completely disabled while driving. EVERYTHING in my car started shutting down; no air, no lights, no steering. Steering and vehicle functions became inoperable and the vehicle required towing. The repair facility diagnosed a charging-system malfunction. Diagnostic notes stated the alternator was only producing approximately 11.2 volts and was not charging the battery. The repair facility also documented that the alternator was saturated in engine oil due to leaking valve covers and oil filter housing components. Repairs included replacement of the alternator, valve covers, oil filter housing, gaskets, coolant-related components, and associated labor under Land Rover repair procedures. I am submitting this complaint because the sudden loss of electrical power while driving at highway speed created a serious safety concern. The only thing that saved me for an accident is the high speed I was traveling coasted my car to the exit as an 18-wheeler truck was on the side and behind me.

The contact later became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) online and associated the failure with the recall; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

Vehicle experienced sudden and complete shutdown while driving immediately after crossing railroad tracks. Dashboard warning displayed “battery failure.” Vehicle would not restart and would not shift into neutral, leaving it immobilized in traffic. Police department called and traffic was managed by 2 police officers. Vehicle was stuck on roadway and required manual override procedure (unknown to owner) to shift into neutral before being pushed off roadway. Vehicle was towed 250 miles. Dealership has indicated hybrid battery/system failure and ordered replacement battery. Concern: Sudden total loss of propulsion and inability to shift into neutral creates serious roadway safety hazard. If this had occurred seconds earlier, vehicle could have been immobilized directly on railroad tracks. Request investigation into hybrid battery/system failures causing sudden total shutdown without safe-mode capability.

The infotainment system system that controls the AC RADIO DEFROST HEATED SEATS, SETTINGS, DRIVEABILITY SETTINGS does not turn on. This is my wifes car and she has to drive sometimes with no defrost while its raining and not AC/Heat control while the weather is cold or super hot in LA. The problem has been diagnosed by the dealer and there has been a recall issued for this specific recall, just not for my vin number. So Land Rover Corporate refuses to fix it or provide any financial help. The car has 45,000miles and we are the original owner. I believe our vin should also be included in the recall of the Land over Sport Infotainment system. I believe our model was not included because it was a diesel and not many range rover sport diesels are in the States,.

WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED. THE VEHICLE CONSISTENTLY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE KEY FOB. THE VEHICLE DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK WHEN TOUCHING THE DOOR HANDLES, THE CAR DOES NOT START WHEN TRYING TO USE PUSH TO START. GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT THE KEY IS NOT RECOGNIZED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO HAVE A VEHICLE THAT CANNOT BE STARTED THEREBY STRANDING MYSELF AND MY FAMILY DURING THE COLD WINTER MONTHS.

ALL THE SCREENS (3) WITHIN THE CAR AS SUBJECT TO FREEZING, OR COMPLETE FAILURE. THIS INCLUDES THE MAIN SPEEDOMETER SCREEN, THE CLIMATE CONTROL SCREEN, THE ENTERTAINMENT SCREEN, THE BLUETOOTH FUNCTION, THE LANE CHANGE ASSISTANCE WITHIN THE REAR VIEW MIRRORS. THIS ISSUE IS PREVALENT IN ALL RANGE ROVERS, RANGE ROVER SPORTS AND VELARS, AND THERE ARE MULTIPLE FORUMS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE ISSUE. IT HAS EXISTED FOR OVER 2 YEARS YET LAND ROVER CONTINUE TO SELL THE CARS WITHOUT DISCLOSING THE ISSUE TO BUYERS AND AS OF TODAY, HAVE NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM, AS CONFIRMED BY LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA. THESE FAULTS CAN OCCUR AT ANY TIME, WITH NO PATTERN, AND NO WARNING. AS AN EXAMPLE, WHEN THE CLIMATE CONTROL SCREEN FREEZES, THE WINDSCREEN CANNOT BE CLEARED IF FOGGED UP AS THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IS INACCESSIBLE, WHICH CAN BE HIGHLY DANGEROUS IN BAD WEATHER. LAND ROVER'S ONLY ADVICE IS TO "PULL OVER, SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN, WAIT APPROX 10 MINS, AND RESTART THE VEHICLE", WHICH IS NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE ON A FREEWAY ON A COLD DARK NIGHT.
