2021 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

The contact owns a 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle stalled and then failed to return to normal operation. The failure reoccurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not found. The messages "SOS System Inoperative" and "Battery Charging Failure" were displayed on the instrument panel, and the stability control became inoperative. The dealer stated that an engine temperature indication defect was detected, the battery lost power, exterior lights became inoperative, the vehicle indicated that the doors were open while the doors were closed, and that there were significant communication failures with the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
